Would rate it 5 stars on performance alone. However, the battery is not easy to attach to the shearer with or without the extension wand. It is a challenge of vertical alignment and the power needed to twist the battery into the proper alignment. Additionally, I had difficulty lining up the two support screw holes for inserting the screws on the extension wand. Also, VERY IMPORTANT, in unfolding and tightening the wand, the instructions emphasize (with an illustration) to tighten the #1 first (nearest the shearer) or risk damaging the wires due to pinching. I recommend you don't try to press the bottom third into place until you have fully tightened the screw for #1. Once assembled, it is very effective and is not too heavy for a reasonable length of time. Did not lose battery power during my cutting session. I also like it because you can use the shearer separately and with one hand. If you only want a shearer alone, there are brands with easier battery attachments. One other plus is the rigidity of the wand versus round poles that tend to bend. I recommend it despite these issues!

Nice set, reasonably priced. BUT...
I noted that when trimming my loquat tree, the cuts were not 'clean'. That is, when I lopped off a branch, as it fell to the ground, it pulled a strip of bark off the remaining branch/trunk.
Why?
Because the blades on my unit were not sharpened to the correct shape. Both blades were sharpened to a 'V' shaped edge (ground from both sides of the blade so that the profile of the edge is V shaped).
Not good.
Bypass shears need to be ground from 1 side only, like home scissors, to cut the thin bark too. The bark was being wedged between the blades instead of being cut. Look at any pair of scissors (or gardening 'bypass shears') and you'll see that when you close them, both blades' absolutely flat sides meet and rub against each other, flat-against-flat. Now imagine taking your scissors and grinding the entire edge of both flat sides down so that the blades both are V shaped where they meet. You can see that where the V meets the V of the other blade won't cut anything. In fact a sheet of paper would only jam between the blades. That is what happened to the bark on my loquat tree.
Fixed myself.
I disassembled the shears and re-ground the moving and non-moving blades to the correct shape and now they work fine. I wonder why the factory deliberately ground the edges of both blades to the wrong shape.
Otherwise, I am happy with the kit, the case, the extension, the charger.

This pruner is well engineered, I have the model with the extension pole and with my 6 foot height +7 1/2' + pole, I can pretty much cut anything I want. This model is very powerful, it will cut bamboo as fast as you can get the tool on it and pull the trigger. This is a first. I'm finished with using the manual pruners, anything else shreds bamboo to an unsightly cut . Clean neat cuts exactly where you want them at the pull of the trigger .

Another nice option is the battery packs have a USB port, so here in Florida with hurricanes it's a fabulous thing having back up batteries to charge cell phones and devices.. Well designed too, the same trigger mechanism is at the base of the pole. When you have the pruner at the top of the pole the battery is at the base of the pole, another good engineering design as it lowers the weight aloft making it easy to control in pole mode. I opened my pole and set it up and I intend to leave it open and not fold it up and put it back in the case. Read the instructions, take your time when assembling you'll get used to the fact that the batteries don't snap in like big box tools they slowly turn into the base of the pruner. It is a different feel.

I did have an issue with one of the batteries it just didn't seem to charge right and TOVIA customer service was spot on and very quick with good communication. The replacement battery came out of Amazon in two days, they are accountable, it's a good product, I highly recommend this tool"¦the 25 V. I just love it!!!
