I purchased the 1-year unlimted prepaid plan on Amazon for $75. That equates to about 2 months of service from my previous supposed discount carrier. You receive a sim card and guided instructions on installing it in your phone and registering everything online.

In my case, I needed personal assistance, so I called Jethro Mobile. I found the customer service to be friendly, well-trained, helpful and based in the USA. I was able to easily port over my existing mobile number to my new phone and service plan. I was completely setup in just a few minutes.

Before going with Jethro Mobile, I visited their website. Before purchasing, while online I was able to confirm my cell phone's compatibility and also get a service coverage map of my zip code area (good 5G & excellent 4G coverage). This step is highly recommended. Essentially, Jethro Mobile has contracted with the T-Mobile network and all of their cellular infrastructure, so national coverage (and even some international coverage) is terrific.

Also, for those of us with simple mobile phone needs, I can definitely recommend the highly rated Nokia 2780 flip-phone for $90. Although this prepaid plan works with most phones, this simple flip-phone & prepaid plan combination is perfect for many folks.

This is the ideal setup for a growing number of people who principally use a phone to talk -- particularly many older and very young users. Personally, I use a mobile phone to occasionally talk to people and as an emergency phone on my motorcycle, bicycle and boat.

Texting is certainly possible on this phone, but compared to a touch screen, it is a bit cumbersome and requires multiple key strokes (see keyboard layout). Great price, super easy set up ....signal is decent, call quality is good... sometimes creates a delay when dialing and in sending messages due to weak signal.

This was my second Jethro Mobile phone. My teenage grandchildren are very happy with their own phones. Believe it or not, they did not ask for a smartphone. My 14 year old grandson calls me as soon as he walks out of class to let me know he is on his way home. The 16 year old girl was upset at first, now she appears to really like it. The old lady phone, as she called it is her favorite.

So far so good! I bought this card for my dad before his T-Mobile contract expired. I transferred the number, paid for a years worth of service and everything is working great so far!
