Wood arrived in a large heavy box. After opening and examining the wood, I could not find any bad lumber. This wood will be made into a premium chess board and table.

I'm happy with the speed of delivery and quality of the wood. I laid it out as shown in the advertisement and I ended up with four layers, not five. It's probably as the box size and weight indicates but, the photo they show is a bit misleading.

I wish I could give it a 4.5 star rating. The color isn't what the picture shows and while it's kind of a bummer it's still a beautiful color. It's definitely different than regular walnut but not the color depicted. That being said I got a full box of varying grains and a few knots which weren't loose or full thickness. The 3/4 works great because I can break them down with a bandsaw and run them through a planer to get the thickness I need. I'll definitely be ordering some more and wish there was more wood variety's they offer like this. This box was a Urn for a friend of mines father. The black walnut and maple box is absolutely beautiful.

I make picture frames where each side is about 1.25" wide and this box had a huge amount of wood I could use. Usually the knots and cracks still allow me to get a shorter length out of the board and the other bits get used for inlays if they are not wide enough for an actual side. I get between 6 and 7 full frames plus extras for inlays from a box.
