I go this because I am getting a tablet as a gift. Thought it would be helpful. In the interim I have use it for my cell phone. The space available for holding items is a bit narrow due to the case on my phone but I make due.
When texting, my phone is horrible - ask my kids. ;-) However, using this keyboard is amazing:
1. The placement of the keys is perfect for laptop typing
2. The touch of the keys is perfect. So much better than my laptop and wireless keyboards.
3. Sturdy, large enough without being too big.

Would recommend for anyone looking for a portable keyboard!

While I use them, the folio style keyboards sacrifice a number of factors: speed, key response, feedback, etc. This keyboard with a slot for holding devices eliminates those issues. You just give up some size as a result.

Pairing was quick. I was able to type at my usual speed. It might take me some effort to get used to the touch pad but it does work this you'd expect it too.

The slot is where I have issues. While I could place my phone (in its case) in the center where the slot is wider, it wouldn't fit on either side where the slot is narrower. Ditto for the tablet. If you are willing to swap these issues for a quality keyboard this is a winner.

Great quality and options and function is exceptional. Buy it.

I really like the keyboard. I'm using it mostly with my Samsung Tablet, but also have it paired with my phone. With the tablet I like it as a stand as much as a keyboard and find I use it in my lap a lot. With either the phone or the tablet answering email is so much easier. One of the best features is the ability to pair it with 3 devices, then switch between them with just a keystroke. So you can place both a tablet and a phone in the holder slot, then switch between them. The slot is long enough for both, although its not wide enough for the phone in its case except in the center (so I can use it in the case, but there isn't room for the tablet as well in this case).

Both my tablet and phone are Android. I find that Android support for the touchpad is a bit lacking, it's really designed for touch screens, not mice. But the touch pad works OK for most purposes, especially when writing. For some other things I just touch the screen.

I tried to pair the keyboard with my "Chromecast with Google TV". Unfortunately it would not pair. Starts out OK and asks with a prompt if you want to pair, but fails after that. I don't think I can hold this against the keyboard, at least until I try it with a different keyboard. Its unfortunate, having a keyboard with the Chromecast would be a game changer for searching.

Bottom line is it's a really useful device, especially if you do work on a tablet and/or a phone. The ability to have multiple devices paired and switch between them with a keystroke is incredibly useful. If I could get it to pair with my Chromecast I'd be in heaven given that I often work while I'm watching TV, and I hate those on screen keyboards.

I find myself writing this product review actually from this keyboard itself. Paired to my chromebook with one of the three Bluetooth connections available on this application. First off the reason I bought this was because it has quiet keys, the phone holder tray, multiple Bluetooth pairings and last but not least a built in track pad. I had been looking back then that had all of these options. Most importantly I wanted the phone holder tray and a track pad all in one and even now a year later as I look to see if anyone else has done this, I cannot find a single other company that has on Amazon. This keyboard has some real weight to it which really adds to the quality of it. I felt obligated to write this review as I was reading the lowest rated view for this product and just strongly disagreed with some of the statements made in it. This is most definitely a solid all the time keyboard for any sort of device be it smart tv, tablet or for me computers. I have used it on a mac, windows and on linux and it preforms just as expected. Like the negative review stated there are one or two strange behaviors backed into it. For some reason when you hit escape it will completely pull you out of that page and take you to the home page. That is annoying and I do not know if there is a way to reprogram that. I have also noticed that the sensitivty of the trackpad is truly too high and it will take time to get use to. I am a software developer and use this keyboard all day everyday and have gotten use to the those little pet peeves that I have noticed, there is also a very strange unexplained thing that will happen when typing really fast on the keyboard. Its like if you just spring into typing from scrolling too fast you will just randomly get the subtraction key "-" for no apparent reason. I know that when it happens I am no where close to tapping that key so I assume its some sort of bug. But it's not big enough issue for me to consider using something else. If you truly want a nice little all in one keyboard I would certainly recommend this awesome little device.
