I haven't found anything about these rollers that I don't like. They have a cushion around then to prevent from burning your fingers and scalp.

I was burning my fingers using my old rollers. Ouch! I could not find a new set at ANY brick and mortar. Flatirons, curling irons, and crimpers abound, but no old school rollers, so off I went to the Amazon Machine. Delivery was quick. More importantly, these rollers do not burn me. There are three size rollers in the set. It heats up quickly. The pins slide in easily. Hair doesn't get caught and break in the roller. The only bummer is there's no auto-off feature. I have to unplug after each use. That's ok though. It's possible to teach this old dog a new trick!

I love this roller set . I've always had very long hair and this pink 20 set is the perfect amount of rollers . It's important if you have a lot of hair like me to kind of pick the pattern you will set your rollers in. Evenly distribute your hair on the roller . These take about 10 minutes to heat , I take about 5 minutes to roll and have the rollers in hair 15 minutes. Unlplug your rollers as soon as you are done rolling your hair so you get in the habit of not accidentally leaving them on. Hope this helps

I had been wanting one of these awhile. The last set I had was a steam set that one had to add a TBSP or 3 of water to the bottom tray. (Back in the 1900's) This one seems to have liquid inside the rollers. No steam but perhaps that's the "Ionic" stated in the title. I don't remember the description at this time, only my experience with the product. I knew it was ready because I had plugged it in and left it way longer than I needed to. The little dot on the roller had turned from a reddish color to a solid white. The side of the rollers where hot to the touch. Hot enough I was a little concerned my hair might burn, so I unplugged the unit, and began curling my hair. It cooled in my hair about 30 minutes, but left in for an hours because I could. Was concerned it wouldn't be curly enough because, when I unplugged it, I wasn't sure that the last ones I put in my hair were hot enough. It was able to touch the rollers enough to roll my hair in them however. I think next time I might unplug it a few minutes, then plug it back in until finished rolling. I have very long hair and had to wrap the ends around first until I could roll up from a straight arm to my head and clip. The clips work well! Hair turned out very curly from the shoulders down, but enough volume above that point to make it look nice. Didn't last long, but with use a mousse next time, or just washed and almost dry hair.

May have to invest in an old Kindness set for all day old (and to feel all those pokey spikes against the scalp). This worked fine for me. I have very straight, fine textured hair. The curl relaxed into something closer to a beachy wave and that was fine with me.
