I wouldn't use these for myself, because they're just not as effective as a traditional hot pack, or even a wet washcloth thrown into the microwave for a few seconds. They only stick on the ends so they buckle away from the place where you want the heat applied, and the heat itself is pretty minimal. But, when it comes to a person with dementia, using a hot pack gets difficult because they won't sit still long enough among other problems. This is a good compromise, actually about the ONLY possible way to deal with those pesky back muscle spasms in someone with dementia who will fight just about anything you try to do.

The amount of heat produced probably makes more sense if the pack could stick all around the edges to prevent it buckling. Would be nice if the manufacturer fixed this problem.

The heat felt really good on my back. It didn't relieve all the pain but it helped.

I sustained a torn flexor muscle cause pain at the groin, knee an ankle with swelling. I am a side sleeper an this really was very difficult to sleep, an sitting up to get out of bed was awful. I used a heating pad but really needed heat on ankle, knee an groin all at the same time. So eureka thermopads. These understand do not get really hot like a heating pad. They are gentle heat. I wrapped one around my ankle an knee during the day an the heat pad at the groin. Understand with this kind of injury you are severely limited in what you can do. Walking to kitchen, bath, couch and bed are about it. An that was my routine for 4 days.
Today is the 5th day I can walk slowly an stand with very minimal discomfort. I don't think the flexor was badly torn as it usually takes up to 3 weeks to heal such an injury. But the point is these work. I am 71 an not a big mover an shaker but injuries like this put a cramp in one's style.

This product since it came out. Like having on a heating pad without the cord. It fits me perfectly and I'm on the heavier side. Also for me the heat lasts longer than the 16 hours. I have worn one for up to 2 days. Great, great product.
