Had a very easy experience installing this into our front door. We wanted a more old school lock that only had password enabled entry as well as being able to use a physical key for emergencies and this fits the requirements well. This is a no nonsense lock and is very sturdy. You only need to put in a good set of batteries (4 AA's) and it'll be good to go.

My handy-gal needed to build a support to use what seems to be mainly for entry doors so she could adapt it for the gate into my back yard. Having a keyless-system to get into my back patio is very important to my safety, sense of security and speed to get safely inside my gate. I look forward to having the same security on my front and back doors.

Love this lock. It works great and so convenient. I would definitely purchase again. We've had for a couple months and battery is doing great so far.

A bit of history..

I always been a fan of keyless entry. From tenants occupying my apartments to using them myself since the first time they showed up. From Schlage to Honeywell I always bought handle keyless entry. The deadbolt was something I just used at night before going to bed...

Comparison with traditionals..

I was dead wrong. Not only it provides better security (although limited unless you have a metal frame reinforced arc and door) but also it's a better experience to use. Keypad is at your eye level now... handles tend to wear and stop locking right after many uses, while this is a bar of metal going into a hole in the wall. Less moving pieces than a handle. Better security.

Now for first time users:

It's a no-brainer, keyless entry is better than keys. For starters, no need to take your keys out and twist... key in a 4 digit pin (up to 12 I think if you choose to) and the door unlocks.... also you can have several codes for all meners besides 1 time-codes for random people that need entry just once like deliveries or technicians to check something inside, the code won't work twice... also a vacation mode where no codes will work until you key in your master key to disable vacation mode. If the door is open by force an audible alarm will sound. Automatic lock on. I have it to auto lock after 30 secs. I found it a great time frame in case you are entering groceries or many people in at the time. The keypad is illuminated in blue and has a flashing red light or green light to let you know when it is locked or when it's unlocked. Also it will beep loud after 3 tries to lock in those cases the door wasn't properly closed and the deadbolt can't find the hole.

Complaints:
So far I would say it's a 8/10. My only complaint would be that I found the round hole at the door needed for this was 5 mm bigger than the one I had on my old regular bolt. Nothing that my electric driller with a big drill couldn't fix going around the inner circle a couple times but that is just me.
Installation: it took me 10 mins.
Then install the batteries...
Programming was about 5 mins. Just input a new master password then entering the access codes you would like. Set the autolock time frame... never touched it again.
Veridict:
My 8 yr old son got it going in 5 secs and he loves it so much he wants one at his room o.O I also had to tell my 4 yr old to stop going outside and lock himself out by holding any key for 2 secs just because he loves it -.-
My wife is not a tech user however she has no issues unlocking. She approves the lock.. And by judging the price I paid... it's a go! No more unlocked doors, no more broken keys, lost keys, broken locks...No more broken handle locks from use either. Hope this helps, take care of yourself, and your family.
