The only thing that would make this better is if it could play blu-rays as well. The screen resolution is better than expected, as is the sound quality. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought this boombox for being able to watch my old box set movies while I work in the kitchen or anyplace else. It is a versatile, portable player capable of doing a lot more than that also. The DVD player can also play CDs, there is a built-in radio tuner, a USB input for MP3s and also bluetooth connectivity to play music from my phone. The sound quality for listening is good. It certainly amplifies and does a lot better job of playing music from my phone than playing from my phone directly. There is a HDMI input that will allow me to plug in any streaming device that I want, like a fire TV stick, so that the screen will run as a monitor for those devices. I don't do that often but it is easy to control using the remote for the streaming device. The player can be powered by 8xD cell batteries but I've used it plugged in so far. I think the player has good functionality and I like that it is robust enough for me to use outdoors or at my studio.

Really good sound for such a small unit. Years ago I had an Aiwa boombox and when it stopped working I never found another to replace it. A bonus with this is ability to play dvds. Just wish it could play my old cassettes
