This is a serious quality amazing walking stick with some tools that just might save your life someday. Just know that this is HEAVY. This is NOT a light walking stick for long walks, this is a city or bear defense walking stick. All tools (knife, fishing tool, saw, etc.) are removeable so you could take this on a plane, maybe. I love it, but this is absolutely heavier than a simple walking stick sold by others.

There are some things that don't work very well. The staff is heavy. When a person is hiking, they tend to go for lighter equipment. A wood walking stick or an aluminum trekking pole would work better, there. On the other hand, all of the tools that come with the staff would alleviate the necessity to carry those items separately EXCEPT that the tools included with the staff do not seem to be very high on the durability index. I am not concerned about that because I bought the staff for the staff...not for a knife or a saw or a fire starter or a folding airplane or a miniature death star. I am satisfied with the basic product. And having the accessories for however long they last is a nice little bonus.

I appreciate having additional tools and blades for my hikes in the Austin hills. We have coyotes, wild pigs, and the occasional wild branches than can interfere with a peaceful hike. With the additional 2 sections for height, I am able to put a small first aid kit in a Ziplock to help anyone that might need it.
It is well balanced for staff spinning and the compass works well. It has rubber gaskets in each section to keep it sealed and help prevent the sections from coming loose.

This hiking, survival Pole, is just like advertised. And it is heavy, so if you're kind of wimpy it might be hard to carry all day on a long hike. The tools would be useful even if not of the very highest quality. And it has plenty of them for nearly every need you would have for survival. And there is storage space in some of the empty tubes. I was actually very impressed by the construction of the pole itself, and I'm very pleased with how solid it is. Overall five stars, just four stars for the tools that are included.
