I just want to say first that if you have dreams of making your own movies, and any other form of media then this has everything you want. This offers a few different programs for video editing, post effects, music recording, and music editing. All of the different programs are super intuitive and easy to use. Everything just makes sense in how it is all set-up and they work with each other, so you can get your audio 100% clean clear and sync'd with what ever video projects you have going to Vegas. With all the included programs they bundled with this, you'll basically have your own studio that is capable of special effects pending entirely on your drive and willing to learn.

I was really excited to receive this software so that I could work on some editing projects. I was extremely disappointed that the envelope containing the disk was already ripped open. The shipping packaging was intact, but the actual envelope that holds the disc had already been unsealed. There is a sticker that says you cannot receive a refund if the item has been opened! The voucher code is easily visible on the packaging but I decided to give it a try and hope that it had not been redeemed. The code was valid and my serial numbers were emailed to me immediately. The software is exactly as expected and worth the price. I have to take one star off because the unsealed packaging just isn't a good experience, but other than that I'm highly satisfied.

This is an absolutely massive group of programs, which all work well together. The intuitive interface makes daunting tasks accessible and easily accomplished. The software seemingly meets you at your level, offering simple defaults, as well as a full range of advanced options. My prior experience with Magix video software, along with the numerous available web tutorials, made it easier to dive right in. I am still discovering new features every time I fire this up. Vegas Pro is an all inclusive package, and the video software alone is worth the price of admission. Then they throw in Sound Forge to bring your soundtrack up to the level of your video images. ( But wait, there's more- more capabilities then I need, or understand at this point. ) Best of all is this is a one time charge, you don't have to pay the gatekeepers a monthly fee, and, you don't have to use the cloud to get your work done. This is the 21st version of Vegas Pro, and the decades of fine tuning are on full display, manifested in the smooth execution of advanced tasks.

I got this to do some video editing for both fun and for marketing. There is a bit of a steep learning curve, but there has to be with any in depth type of a program, i.e. not one that just has basic functions. This is a professional level video editing software- so expect to have to learn how to use it - it won't be intuitive - but it may be easier if you've used a similar product before.
It has the ability to handle so many types of files- both photo and video- pretty much anything you may want to use. It will require a decent laptop- at least i5 and a decent graphics card for it to work, so check that ahead of time.
Lots of capability in the program - it's actually a bundle of products.
Also, you will need to either subscribe to a monthly subscription or purchase the license. But once you purchase the actual license- you can use the product forever, you just lose your online storage.

All of the software applications that are part of the Vegas Pro Post have a long history. Acid Pro, especially, holds on to a soft spot in my heart since I was first exposed to it around 1999. Originally released by Sound Foundry and considered to be top of the line products, Acid, Vegas, Sonic Forge and the rest were at one point owned by Sony, and were later acquired by German company Magix Software. The last time I used Acid and Sonic Forge was more than a decade ago.

Reviewing this most recent suite of tools, I see that they haven't lost their magic (slight pun intended). The products are expanded to take advantage of powerful hardware. For example, Sound Forge now allows recording at a ridiculous 64-bit/768 kHz sampling rate. There are a bunch of AI-enabled features I'm just beginning to discover, such as automatic text to speech conversion, etc. In spite of all of these, the price has pretty much remained the same.

Talking about the price, the licensing model here is also very customer friendly. You can either buy the permanent license, or go the subscription route like most other competitors. Unlike Adobe and others though, at the end of your initial subscription, you still have a permanent license and continue to use the product without limitations. (Of course you'll lose things like cloud storage, etc. if you're not subscribed.)

All-in-all, playing around with this software tells me that Vegas still rocks, and hopefully will continue to be around for another 25 years...
