On the whole I'd say this is a pretty good saw. It locks up well while open, closes smoothly and cuts well. It's compact but large enough to work well on limbs up to 3" or so in diameter (and a bit larger in a pinch). However it does have some limitations. First off it's small enough that you probably wouldn't want to use it to harvest a lot of wood. And the saw doesn't cut as quickly as the similar sized saws from Silky.

This is a good saw for the price but if you can afford the extra $10-$15 the Silky Gomboy is a lot better cutter.

great way to acquire an excellent folding saw and a nice stainless Mora bush knife at low cost!

quality is fantastic, and this package should be part of any camp or bush kit!

the mora knife is stainless - and quite sharp - be careful, because the blade will take off a finger at the knuckle like slicing through gelatin!

the folding hand saw will make short work of even 6-inch timber... also handy for gardeners! (we use it on bottlebrush trees and shrubs - makes short work!)

Ok, for those who don't know, the saw in this set is awesome, should get a five star just by itself. Very compact say when folded, I can easily carry it in my pack or my messenger bag when camping/hiking. The ergo design handle is super comfortable when sawing through logs or even 2x4's, but the best feature I like about it is the locking mechanism. The blade will not open unless you push the release button to open it, perfect if you have small kids like I do (unless your kids have hulk strength!). The blade will also not close on you since it locks into place with the same release button. Very good product.
The knife is a good knife, it's what prompted me to rate 4/5. The scandi grind is razor sharp right out of the box and I can easily process small wood down to build fires with this. The handle is very comfortable, and I have never felt a worry about my hand slipping off and running across the blade. The only downfall (and this is due to my outdoor adventures) it will not work well with a ferro rod or firesteel. This is a minor thing, but I personally like to carry just a knife when out doors with my ferro rods, but this is just me.
I have used this thing over a year now almost daily and it still has a razor sharp edge, never sharpened it, never stropped it. I do take care of my tools and not abuse them, so that might be a factor. All in all, great set, every outdoors men (and women) should have one. Hope this help!

This is one of those rare products that is pretty much perfect. If you need as good of a saw as possible that you could take with you on any hike then this is it. Lightweight and sturdy, you could take this, a decent knife, and lunch into the woods and probably process enough wood for weeks.

Wear out the blade? Just buy a replacement. Lose things a lot? Buy two of these, there that inexpensive. Like most portable tools, it won't do the job as well as a dedicated and larger saw, but of course you would use one of those if you could. If you are "woodsy" and have been using a hatchet to process fire wood, this thing will rock your world. A saw can only do one thing, but it's hard to beat it at what it does and for something you can hang on your belt or stick in your pocket while you hike for a few hours, this thing does it well.

I can't say enough about this knife. It's described as an "carpenter" knife but I've used it for almost everything, and really ... everything. And it's comes incredibly sharp, so watch your fingers.

This knife is just the right size for almost everything. Easy to handle, the grip material and grip pad is perfect for full control. I'm a woman and this knife fits very well. I've given it as gifts to a few friends and even the men with larger hands love this knife.

During the summer, I used it to cut cedar shingles to size, yeah ...shingles. And it worked so well that I got a couple more and gave them as gifts. Those friends were helping with the house and even if a "proper" shingle tool was available, we were always looking for the "orange knife" because that's the one that would almost slice through the wood like butter. (again, water the fingers)

I really recommend this knife for everything from the all-around household stuff to the much heavier duty projects that involve wood.

Side note: I did try other Mora's to cut shingles but I immediately stopped. There is a quite noticeable difference between the other Mora knives and this one, which is specific for Carpentry tasks. Clearly, this knife is made differently.
