I've had my tank for more than 10 years. One of the original hoods died about 10 months ago so I ordered this product...and it just died out of nowhere. The other original is still going strong. Too expensive to work for just a short time!

It shorts out . . . 5% of the time the light works and 95% it doesn't. Such a waste of money!

Best price out there. Built well works good. Minus one star for the fluorescent tubes. Better suited for a work bench. NOT the kind you want for aquarium. REPLACED them immediately.

I was initially hesitant to purchase this light. I had read bad things about Aqueon tube lighting. Many write that the lighting is poor in their tanks and the bulbs die quickly. I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only am I happy with the quality of lighting for my 20gallon high tank, I love the fit of this hood section on my tank. It looks great on my aquarium! I can definitely say that this more than adequately lights my 20gallon high planted tank. It brings out the vibrant greens of my anubias, Java fern, and Amazon swords. I placed it directly on my aqueon glass top and so far my setup is working great! I'll report back in several months on whether or not the bulb has burnt out. So far, I'm extremely satisfied with this budget lighting.
