I bought this knowing hatchet/axe heads are different so I had no issues with having to "fine tune" the handle to make it fit. Only issue I have is I was expecting the color shown and it came in natural(no stain) it had a protective coating. I wish ppl would either state that it may not come in that color or actually produce what they display. That's my only fault with the product and its one I can remedy just feel I shouldn't have to. Its sturdy and worth the money.
good product. Just understand that you will have to ...

Well built, good product. Just understand that you will have to file or sand this into the profile of the axe head. They are all slightly different so be prepared for that. It took me about 15 mins to get mine where I wanted it and it fits well.
No problem here

I had an old pitted hewing axe, (of little value outside my own use) that the handle shot craps on. The head hafted without issue on this quality handle. Between balance, weight and edge I use it to once again effectively chop with great abandon. Whoever is looking for an original Plumb handle or whatever, my question is: Do you use any of your tools, or are they just for looking at? I use mine and this handle is made for use.
Good quality - plenty of wood to fit different axe head eyes

Good quality hickory handle, extra long length for a heavy hatchet. Says it's a wax finish, but mine was a light oil finish. An oil finish is easy to sand down if you want to refine the grip and preferred for maintenance; simple to wipe a rag over the handle with Danish or linseed oil as needed, and better results when you need to refinish a scratch or chipped spot later.

Wood is oversized on top so you have room to shave it down, but this will probably fit anything from an axe head down to a framing hatchet head - axe heads are all different, this is part of replacing a handle... no axe handle fits perfectly off-the-shelf. Go slow with your trimming, keep checking and trimming and you'll get a great fit. I used my handle for a large broad hatchet head where I wanted to cant the handle a little to the outside, plenty of wood up top to get the 4 degrees of offset I needed.
