I purchased a number of pairs of Champion dumbbells to supplement my home work outs and they are top quality. I was looking for gym quality, rubber encased weights with a comfortable knurled handle. The rubber encasement provides protection to the weight and your floors. The new weight smell subsides after a few days left to breathe. Note that these weights are sold individually from most sellers!

Great value for the price. Only reason why Im giving it a 4, is the strong odor from the rubber that eventually goes away in about a week.

These are nice. Comfortable grip and a good rubber for the wood floors so as not to leave scuffs. As far as the smell complaints go, it will hit you when you open the box; somewhere between a hardware store and big box auto supply retailer. However, I haven't found that it lingers as much as people have said. I don't have a very airy apartment, and only placed these by the bathroom window for a day or two, and there's no long-term smell hanging around the air in my place. Perhaps when I curl them up to my face, a slight whiff is noticeable, but I haven't experienced the assault others have. I don't smoke or have any other olfactory inhibitions.

This is what it says, a 95lb dumbell. Good ergonomic handles and rubber coated. I normally don't care what they smell like, but these smell like they spent the last 40 years in an old woman's ash tray. That's worth 1 star.
