Great way to add extra prebiotics
Stephen C✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 30, 2018
Easy to use tasteless powder. Bought this after reading Dr Nemechek's theories. Our daughter actually did get great results! Very happy with this & will continue to use it.
Dissolves easily in hot liquid and you don't know it's there.

I've been using it for years. Put a scant teaspoon in my second cup of coffee. Does the trick and keeps my gut in good shape. I used to use a different inulin product that I can't buy any longer after being turned on by my doctor. This is the only one I could find and it is just as good as the benefiber that dissolved in my hot beverage. I believe, personally, that you need prebiotic as well as probiotic to keep things working properly.
Simplest and least offensive pre-biotic I have tried
Linda Lou C✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 17, 2017
This was a reorder and I still really like this product. I earned about it from the Wheat Belly author, Dr. Wm. Davis. It was one of his recommendations for pre-biotic. I find it very easy to use because I put a teaspoon in my coffee and it dissolves completely, just by stirring with a spoon. I previously tried acacia fiber (also Dr. Davis recommendation) but it was hard to dissolve in liquids. I also tried green bananas which I found to difficult to peel and cut up, and raw potatoes which I don't like. This is the simplest and least offensive pre-biotic I have used! Try it!
Works great!

I have celiac and this is totally safe. It's great to have for when I travel or anytime I can't get enough prebiotic foods.
Clumps up in cold water, sticks the bottom of the glass.

This does NOT mix well in cold water. It clumps up sort of like acacia fiber powder, like a gummy mess, and it is sticky and attaches itself to the bottom and sides of the glass.

With this stuff you're better off mixing it into some yogurt and eating it like that rather than trying to drink it.

Also, the lid is terrible for a fine powder. All the NOW foods bottles are this way. There is no tight seal at all, so it lets humidity and air into the bottle, and if you don't use it up quckly, prepare for some clumping and hardening in the bottle. Why did they go to these terrible lids? What were they thinking?

But, it is inulin, which does feed good bacteria, so that's good. I personally like pure short chain FOS (Nutraflora FOS) better. It mixes easily i water and is very powerful stuff.
