PERFECT...

You just have to appreciate things that are made by people, for people. Superb quality and craftsmanship went into making this and it has to be held and used to understand it. There are others out there for a lot more and a lot less, but overall this Hultafors Trekking Axe cannot be beat.
I applied a few coats of raw linseed oil into the handle, as well as added some 550 paracord for hanging and damage control for missed strikes

This came brand new popping hairs off my arm! Nice polished edge and build quality is great. It'll be a long long time before needing to rehang it. Its light, very sturdy, and IMO the perfect size for backpacking or camping. Main use would be felling small trees, wood/fire crafting, and great for setting traps. Handle comes varnished so I'll be stripping that and applying a healthy dose of boiled linseed oil regularly. The only thing i saw as a "problem" was on my sheath. The belt loop seems very small and its a really tight fit to get it on and off a belt without hassle but that won't bother me since it'll be attached to my backpack. I recommend this axe!

This axe and cover with belt loop are great. The belt loop works great with an old leather belt I had laying around. This axe is the perfect size for my needs learning bushcraft camping. The quality is great on this axe head, Oak handle and Leather sheath. I am very pleased with this purchase. Now I just have to learn how to use and care for my new axe.

This axe quality is superior than my GB small forest axe at 2/3 the cost. Highly recommend for preparing firewood and field dressing game while hunting.

This axe is the nicest one I have ever owned, you can tell it is hand made. It is light in the hand and came hair shaving sharp. I have used it to spilt kindling and create feather sticks to start a fire, works great for duing fine work. Also comes with a fine leather sheath with a simple leather holding strap. It is 15" overall so small enough to to fit in a pack but large enough to do most camp work. I only wish there was an American dealer selling the Hultafors Hunting Axe and I would buy it as well. You definitely won't regret purchasing this hatchet.
