FIT PERFECTLY
Mike J✓ Verified Purchase•September 9, 2023
Installed easily removal and installation of new part took about 10 minutes maX. I bought the OEM instead of an aftermarket part. Reviews of the aftermarket products seem to have a high failure rate at about 8-12 months. The original part lasted 12 years I'm hoping this one will last as long.
You actually don't have to tourn off power and water but I did. Why take a chance on it if you have problems.
BUY THIS ONE. IT FITS AND WORKS PERFECTLY.

Perfect Fit - Ice Machine

Perfect fit for our Samsung Refrigerator (RFG298HDBP). The unit was easy to install and I was done with the installation within 20 mins from receiving the package. The ice machine started making ice within 60 mins of installation
Design flaw with the unit has not been resolved...

There is a design flaw with this ice maker that causes it to fail. I know how to resolve the issue, but it was just easier to replace the whole unit. With this said, the unit is very easy to remove and install and ANYONE can do it. It takes about five minutes to remove and install, so this is a simple thing to do. DO NOT pay a repairman to come replace your unit.
If your ice maker still has ice in the tray but the ice will not come out, you have encountered the design flaw with this unit. You can pull the tray out by pressing the tab at the front of the unit, and then pulling from the back. You will need to remove the panel to the left of the ice compartment and disconnect a power/communications cable from behind the panel. If you are buying this unit, you can then reverse the process to put the new one in. If you want to repair your existing unit, there is a thermal fuse that you have to replace. I have put a video on YouTube that shows how to do this if you choose to save the money and just replace the fuse.
The video title is Samsung Ice Maker Repair - RF4287HARS/XAA AND SIMILAR MODELS. This will show you how to remove/replace the ice maker, and how to get to the thermal fuse.
If you want to do it the easy way and get a brand new unit, the part number is: SAMSUNG DA97-07365G
Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002UQY3LE
If you want to replace the thermal fuse, the part is: Thermal Fuse Cutoff TF 102 Degree 250V 3A A1-3A-F

Saving money is always a good thing, so I hope you find this helpful.

Fits my frig: 2013 Samsung Refrigerator RFG298HDRS/XAA Rev 02 side by side with 2 ice makers.
I was a bit nervous I was chasing the wrong problem when my in-the-door ice maker quit sending water to the ice maker. After researching Samsung common ice-maker problems, this was a very common issue and replacing the ice-maker was the highest chance of fixing my ice-maker problem. The $150 price was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but if I call "The guy", then I'd be out a lot more $$ with a service call. I have replace a standard ice-maker before maybe this might we work a chance? I reviewed the Youtube video How To: Samsung Ice Maker Assembly DA97-07365G. He made it look simple 1 screw, 1 coupling.....I decided to rolled the dice and try it.
I ordered the "original part" to be safe. I followed the videos and I had it replaced in 10 minutes. I was worried when I completed the install, I did not hear water running, or motors turning. I pressed the reset on the side and it made a sound, so I knew it had power. In the morning, I had ice!
I did not turn off the frig nor did I turn off the water supply. I did press the disable ice-maker button.
TIP: Wait several hours (4-5 hr someone said) for the cycle to kick in, freeze and dump.
Lesson Learned: Put the old ice-maker in the sink else you'll be cleaning up water on the counter when it thaws....smile

Installation Was a Breeze!

You can save $$$ by doing this yourself! I found a great installation video online. Watched it a couple of times to gain confidence and I was off to the races. Before you order this I would suggest watching the video first so you'll know what to expect. Make sure the video matches the model number of your original ice maker exactly so you don't run into any surprises. Even though I took my time doing this, it only took about thirty minutes to do the install. No special tools required. No stripping wires thanks to a quick connect module. The new unit works as expected. I can't speak for the life expectancy yet but using the OEM replacement is the best way to go. Completely satisfied.
