This stuff is less like tape and more like strong vinyl backed with super glue. When handling it, if it sticks to itself, that's it. You have to cut the peice off because there is no prying it apart like you can do with duct tape. Thankfully, the heavy weight of this tape means it doesn't flap around and stick to itself often. Only when I was doing a very long strip a bit carelessly.

This is high quality duct tape! It is thicker than normal and seems to have a very good adhesive to it as well. I have used it on the underside of my camper's floor liner to patch up some cuts I had in it over a year ago and its still holding great. I have used other brands like 3m that the fabric will fray and let go in a very short amount of time and have not experienced any of the same failures with this product! I would highly recommend this even though it has a higher price, you pay a premium price for a premium product.

Grip is very good. One comment: I wish these types of tapes were designed with edges that were the same color as the tape. For example, if I buy black tape, the edges are almost white because the reinforcement material is visible. For some applications, appearance counts and the lighter color edges shows up too much. It would be nice if manufacturers used reinforcement material of the same color as the tape.

This stuff is TOUGH! I first bought it to wrap a punching bag I have that was falling apart. It worked perfectly, and has continued to even tho I hit it as hard as I can for hours on end. Not sure you can put it through more rigorous and continuous testing than that. I've also used it to fix water hoses, water pipes, it even held together an old ripped leather couch my dog decided to try to dig a hole to China in. This stuff is fabulous.
