Not for tiny critters

This is not for small animals such as gerbils, baby hamsters or rats. Shown is my daughters young rat who was easily able to come through the bars. We decided to keep the cage, mainly due to its ability to be easily cleaned,knowing she will get bigger and wrapped it with mesh wire and zip ties for the time being.

This cage does the job, but there was a lot about it that really disappointed me, especially when replacing a cage that I really liked. First off, it should be noted that each bottom corner of the cage slopes pretty significantly "“ this means the floor of the cage is NOT the listed the dimensions of the cage, it's at least an inch shorter on each side. This is ok, just worth noting. It's still large enough for my rabbit, but I had hoped it would be a bit larger. Also, since the plastic walls of the cage slope, you can't hook on the Kaytee corner litter pans I've become so used to using. Luckily, my rabbit doesn't move the litter pan around too much, but it is frustrating that the slope is so severe that I can't even hook it onto the bars. The bars also warp a lot easier than I expected "“ they seem to be easy enough to bend back into place, but this isn't the most comforting thing ever in a cage that you hope will last.

I will update this when I get to use it. Right now my rats are to small to use yet. They might be able to get out. So I haven't even looked in the box.
UPDATE: Space between bars is 1 inch so smaller rats WILL get out. PRO: Its sturdy... my cage somehow fell at a distance of 6 feet and was slightly damaged. I used pliers to straighten the wires. Then still had to McGiver one of the wires because it lost tension and my rats managed to go through the wires. CON: Now the plastic bottom part; is made in such a way that my rats were able to chew holes on all corners. PRO: Easy to take apart and easy to put together. But I am going to buy another Ware product because I think/know they are sturdy. This next one I'm getting is part of their "Chew Proof" line.
Would I recommend this cage?...defiantly for larger animals like Guinea pigs. Rabbits maybe since they are not very active.

I purchased the Medium size ( 28.5 X 17.2 X 15.5) and it is perfect for our 3 month old Lionhead Rabbit. This same brand and size cage was twice as much at the big pet stores so for this size it's a great deal. Easy to put together and super easy to clean. The reviews for all sizes are included here, so just make sure you are ordering the correct size for your pet.

I got this for our guinea pig. His previous cage was larger but had an open top. I wanted a covered top because he likes to be covered and he spent his life living in his igloo. I am pleased with this cage. although it is a bit smaller, he seems happier. I lay a towel over the top so he feels concealed, but at least he isn't stuck in a little igloo all day. My only dislike is the door is a little small and I cant get his litter pan out with out having to take the entire top off, but its really not a big deal. Overall, I am satisfied with it.
