nails and the like. would buy again in a heartbeat
Testblake•September 8, 2017
no complaints here. i run it with a cheap harbor freight compressor. have laid about 4000 sq ft of flooring and have yet to have any kind of jam. And that's even forgetting to oil as often as recommending.
Have not yet taken cleat of to use as a regular nailer but seems simple enough. very versatile with staples, nails and the like. would buy again in a heartbeat. And freeman has an awesome warranty.

Decent for the money

For the money, it is an good buy. Adjusting it is a little tricky, and almost questionable upon doing so. I was trying to adjust the air pressure, and it isn't obvious in the slightest to tell which direction the dial turns to go up or down in pressure. I played with it for a while, and saw absolutely no difference in the amount of force.
About 1/3 of the staples it shot out though, bent in both direction and had to be pulled out with a needle-nose pliers. I couldn't tell you if it was the staple, the gun, or the fact that it was shooting through Bamboo. Since it was a very thin strip of bamboo to shoot through, I'd be shocked if it was the wood. I almost have to deduct that it was the gun itself, misfiring the staples. I got very used to pulling every 3rd staple out, that didn't even sort-of go into the wood. You may be thinking that I wasn't holding it flat to the floor, or was at an angle, but I've installed plenty of hardwood on floors, and I certainly know what I'm doing.
You'll find that the angle of handle requires you to use your pinkie to pull the trigger. Honestly, this fact doesn't bother me, and in fact is quite comfortable doing so, because my other fingers are able to hold the gun in place better.
If I had to buy another one, I'd consider spending triple the money, to not have the hassle of pulling out 1/3 of the staples.

Would buy Freeman again.

Installing 5/8 solid bamboo flooring, we just finished the first room with it and not a single jam, its been reliable and consistent. The tool is a manageable size and pretty easy to work with yet feels quite solid and not flimsy. I used Freeman nails with it, no issues and much cheaper than the local hardware store. I would buy Freeman products again.
Don't waste your money!

Finally got a chance to use the item after letting set in the box for well over a month, almost two. Two days in to it, it breaks. And to make it better, it's past the return date despite just beginning to use it.
Perfect DIY tool.

This flooring stapler incorporates all the safety features and works smoothly with no jamming. I just completed installing 900 sqft of 1/2" wood flooring utilizing 2500 staples and the only misfire was caused because of human error. I kept the air pressure at 95-100psi during the entire job. The foot is easily adjustable for setting both depths of the staple and the position. I used both 1" and 1-1/4" 18 gauge staples and both functioned well. I would have no problem highly recommending the Freeman PFBC940 mini stapler.
