Buying a bigger one for several reasons.

-I wanted a larger unit with enough room for the rice to expand without pushing up the tray and lid, breaking the heat seal.
-This model hasn't scorched the rice yet like my old one, it peels right off the teflon.
-Brown rice needs 17-20% more water in this model than my smaller one.
-Brown rice cooks slightly faster than the old one.
-The tray holes are HUUUUUGE; the tray needs a second tray inside with small holes to keep small items from falling into the cooker (see photo).
-The glass lid sticker has impossible-to-remove adhesive (see photo).
-The glass lid has a durable metal hole liner; my old smaller one had a plastic one that cracked, fell out, and got lost.

Can't find a decent reliable cooker!

Lasted less than 6 months. We bought the same one two cookers ago which also died in less than a year. Bought a Black & Decker in between and that one lasted only a year as well. I would return this current Aroma on warranty but I have to pay $6 shipping each way. Hardly worth it knowing the replacement will also likely fail quickly.
Broke in less than a year.

We have been using this rice cooker for 10 months and it decided to stop working today. There was a burning metal/paint smell that came from it a few times while cooking rice. But today after a batch of rice it just turned off and won't work anymore. Looking at other reviews, it seems to be happening a lot to others.
Simply the Best

I have been cooking rice on a daily basis for over 35 years. My first year i used a japanese brand pot similar to the aroma pot. I've also used different methods for cooking rice, too. By far the aroma pot is the best. I bought a digital rice cooker one year and after 2 uses i gave it away- it was awful.
Trust Aroma- it's a very good pot!

I really like my rice cooker

I really like my rice cooker. As long as I'm careful to follow the included measurements guide (rice with not enough water added will be crunchy and browned on the bottom, rice with too much water will be mushy) I've made white and brown rice, and quinoa.I don't do more than 6 cups dry, when I tried 7 with quinoa it overflowed a bit, but 6 comes out perfect every time and is enough to feed 6 hungry people. I really like the steamer as well, veggies come out well cooked, and clean up is so easy. Mine is labeled "no BPA on food surfaces", which I didn't see on the product description but I appreciate.
