Four Words... LAME SAUCE RICE COOKER
Amazon Customer✓ Verified PurchaseJanuary 5, 2018
I gave this rice cooker 2 stars. Does it cook rice? Yes....kinda. Does it over flow with water/ steam? Yes... Definitely. I have used this thing over 10 times now. I pre-rinse my rice and I have followed the directions on how to operate the machine. But still I have to stand by it the whole time it's cooking to occasionally lift the lid when the steam is about to bubble over the sides. Here are the other three reasons why this rice cooker is Lame Sauce....

1. You can really only make 1 cup of dried rice in this, because any more than that and it will definitely be bubbling over with the water instead of just steam unless you are a lid lifting guru and have fantastic skills on the exact moment as to when the steam chaos will insue on your cooker and counter top... now that I think about it though, if you are the kind of person who likes a challenge and to keep things interesting.... then you may enjoy this cooker.

2. Technically the 1 "cup" they give you isn't an actual cup as in 8 oz. It's less. LIES.

3. As you can imagine with the water/steam bubbling over problem, the rice does not cook all the way! It's shocking, I know. Therefore it has a little crunch and not in a good way, so you must do a lid lift/ water adage dance till you believe the rice has hit the right amount of softness.

LOOK away my friends, LOOK AWAY, don't buy this waste...

lights and bell poor I bought several years ago so maybe it has been updated NO bell to tell you when finished cooking and the cook and warm lights are the same color so hard to tell which is which across my room as a cooker I have no complaints
A little messy, but works

It tends to 'shoot' rice and water out even with the lid on sometimes, but that might be because i dont measure it properly. But other than that it works well for its use. Hasnt failed yet and its had somee constant use(great for making sushi rice)
It didn't last.

It was great to cook steamed rice with this and loved the steam basket option for veggies. However, our family cooks rice 2 to 3 times a week and this rice cooker started breaking down after 5 to 6 months. I thought I was forgetting to set it all the time but the button actually kept undoing itself and going back to warm. It finally gave out and broke on its 7th month of use and burned its last pot of rice because it didn't switch to warm after it finished cooking. I will not buy again.
I love this thing

Why oh why did I wait so long to buy a rice cooker? I love this thing. Only complaint is that the rice tends to get a little crusty on the bottom, but I've never owned a rice cooker before, so that may be normal anyways. It's still edible, just a little weird. The rest of the rice turns out perfectly and the added ability to steam stuff is great!
