This is a very nice product. Easy to follow directions, cleans up easily, but remember this is not a "magical" rice cooker. You can still make rice wrong with just a little too much or not enough water, etc. But it does not boil over as some other rice cookers are know for. And the rice comes out very tasty, better than I was able to do in a stove top pan. It does take about an hour, but I believe it is worth the wait.

Downsized from 10cups Zojirushi to this 3 cup Zojirushi rice cooker (NS-LHC05XT).

I eat rice very frequently but when I cook just a few cups in a 10cup rice cooker it dries out very easily and takes a lot of space.
So I finally broke down and downsized to this 3 cup Zojirushi and am very happy I did!

PROS:
- Compact! Saves space in the kitchen
- Still have all the function I need (Brown rice, porridge, white rice, mixed rice, jasmine rice, quick, keep warm and 2 timer settings)
- Good price for what it does and quality (Paid $149+tax)
- Comes with rice cup & rice scooper
- Very easy to use, really.
- Rice always comes out perfectly!

CONS:
- MAKE SURE TO HIT "CANCEL" when you are done! (or just unplug)
***This was a total slap in my face. I have owned MANY rice cookers in the past and this is the first rice cooker that doesn't cancel on its own when I pull the bowl part out. I was NOT aware of this and my rice cooker "stayed warm" until the next morning when there was NOTHING inside, not even a bowl.***Zojirushi, please fix this!
- Rice bowl thing keeps rotating when trying to scoop. There is no "stopper" function so when I try to scoop rice the bowl keeps rotating inside the rice cooker, and am concerned this might damage/scratch the bottom of the cooker. My 10cup rice cooker had a handle on the bowl that secured to the rice cooker which prevented from rotating.

Overall I am happy with the quality of this product and I would continue to buy Zojirushi brand for my rice cooker.

This is the most expensive rice cooker i ever purchased but it does an excellent job in keeping your rice freshly cooked and warm even after 36hours. It doesn't burn the rice at all even if it is sitting on warm mode for long period of hours.
White Jasmine rice and Brown rice is cooked so perfect! The only cons I can give is it takes longer to cook than the typical walmart brand, an average of 52minutes even if you only cook 1cup. But I am okay with long slow cooking and yet it comes out in perfect texture.
When turning on and when rice is cook the unit plays a music, just put smile to your face.

Well. I never thought a more expensive rice cooker was something that might be a good thing to buy. But, after seeing better models out there, it appeared that perhaps there would be a difference.

After researching different models, I decided on this brand, which has a great reputation, and this model. This model is great because it if for about 3 cups, which is a great amount for 4 people to have a dinner.

Likes?: Love the different settings. Love the closed pressure type of cooking. Love the size and design. Looks very nice. Love the different settings for different rice, including typical white rice, brown rice, gabs rice, even oatmeal (not that instant kind). Love the I'm cooking tune and I am done tune! (clever). Love the closed nature of this. Keeps the rice warm, and the rice can be reheated (yay). Love the retractable power cord. Love the spatula and measuring cup provided.

I bought this model for the 3 cups capacity rather than the larger model. I was skeptical. How much better could this expensive (relatively - there are even more expensive models including induction models available) thing be? Well, it is far superior improvement to the cheap cookers with cook and warm features only and a basic cover that isn't secure. This bathes the rice and evenly cooks it and there is no bottom overcooked crust either. Perfect through and through. Plus the vessel is well marked so you know exactly how much rice to put in!

Recommended, especially for smaller needs for a smaller family particularly.

Bought this rice cooker around Xmas last year as a gift for myself, and I was amazed by the quality of the rice this cooker cooks.
This rice cooker is small, it is good for 1 to 3 person household. And the cook time can takes an hour to two hours depending on what grains you are cooking. Also, this rice cooker is very portable, it travels with me on some of the home away trips... Because I love my rice to be fluffy! Well, my friends were amazed by how fluffy the rice from this cooker compare to their rice used to make on the stove top (they normally burn the pot...), so they're getting themselves one of this rice cooker too.
Well, this rice cooker don't take up a lot of space in the kitchen, its cord is retractable, and the clean up if a breeze. The timer function works great if you want to wake up to some steel-cut oats (you can look up more recipes online).
The price for this rice cooker is expensive compare to other rice cookers. But trust me, if you follows the directions on each grain that are listed on the manual, there will be no regret.
