Nupla doesn't clearly say the AXE head is cast in China. Poor quality. Returned & bought Council Tool USFS version 100% US made

Dissapointing quality of the cast axe head. Head poorly cast in China. Only the handle is made in the US. Buy the USFS approved Pulaski Axe made by Council Tool (head cast in the US) that meets USFS and GSA specs, from Forestry Suppliers instead. May not come with a cool looking fiberglass handle (American Hickory instead), but you will get an overall better quality, more effective tool than the Nupla, and 100% Made in the US versus the Nupla which says made in US when only the handle is made in the US. Chinese steel casting can be very hit or miss and you don't want one of these fracturing or breaking in use. That could be quite dangerous. Nupla should be more clear in their description that the head is NOT cast in the USA.
In addition, for any such tool, I recommend you properly measure from the ground up to where your hands will grip the ax handle, or better yet, go to a local hardware store to check out different length ax handle lengths, to find the best length for YOU, before buying.

Good,but...

Works like a charm on oak tree roots. Heavy, but weight actually assist in cutting through roots. Three stars cuz yellow handle doesn't go all the way through ax head. Rather,it stops at head. Thru small gap on the handle/head, I can see two stainless steel rods going thru the head. Can't see where it stops or what it's connected to cuz the other end is completely covered with some sort of resin. Although it performed well on a handful of roots, I seriously doubt I would take it to fight brush fires if I was a firefighter. If those two rods broke or shifted cuz I hit something really hard, I'd be in a hurt.

Super awesome! Simple as that.
Rainer of hellfire upon all types of weeds.

My husband got this for me as a birthday present. It is wonderfully merciless on the invasive weeds on the perimeter of our property. It rains down holy hell on the horsetail and buttercups who stubbornly ignore every other method. Plus its great for keeping the bears off the deck.

Great for root removal and trenching. Best garden implement of destruction I have ever used.
