Bad design/quality and discharged battery

This came with a totally exhausted battery plugged in.
The Battery connector cables are damn short and didn't worked after a new battery was put on. Had to put a piece of paper inside battery compartment to push and keep the battery connector tight.

Hearing impaired?

It serves the purpose I use it for except the audio for the continuity portion really sucks for someone that is hearing impaired. Like me, the older generation that has hearing loss of the higher frequencies. This thing is worthless in that aspect. I have a cheap RS 22-179A that has audio in the range I can hear it. I have no idea if the TP2844R even makes a sound! Guess I could get the wife to listen for it to find out. I would have not ordered it if I knew that.

I like the meter. It showed up in pristine condition and was delivered on schedule. It is made in China - like everything else. It is not flimsy, constructed very well, and the controls that I use work. I use the meter for my O gauge model railroad. I use its AC volt, amperage, and continuity checker which all work. The stand is a nice touch and for a flat surface holds the unit secure. The selection knob is firm but easy to turn and has detents for each selection. The buttons are easy to press. When measuring voltage, the unit does take a bit to settle down but does settle down in about 5 seconds. It took me a little bit of playing around with the various settings and buttons to figure out their affects on the readings on the screen. The screen is easy to read and the momentary red back light is a nice touch. The Auto Power Off setting gives you a ~minute warning beep before it powers off.

well, I mean, very satisfactory. I bought and returned the cheapo $9 bucks meter. This one feels like the real thing. Haven't use it a lot (I got caught in something else) but feel contented with the idea that I have an excellent product to use when I finally put my computer together (building my own) to measure voltages, etc.
Good cables. The thing that I like the most is that the readings stay put, so to speak, not constantly changing. I don't know how to describe that better.
This meter gives you the feeling that you have a reliable tool in your hands.
