This is a great cage for the money. When I ordered this from Amazon, I was expecting something fairly cheap, but workable. You know how it is: something made in China that is just barely good enough, and will make you wish you had forked out the extra money for something better in a year's time. Boy, was I wrong.

This cage is very well thought out and designed. It is made in Europe. It fits together easily, but strongly. It is light, but tough. The value for the money is very, very good. I have seen this same cage at a large box pet store for twice the price on Amazon. At twice the price, I would say this is a nice cage. For the price on Amazon, this is a steal.

We bought two of these cages for two rabbits. The X-Large size works great for a medium sized rabbit. We probably could have gotten the size smaller, but I wanted to give the rabbits ample room. Note that although this cage is strong, it isn't designed to hold a large, strong animal.

Great cage! My rabbit was growing steadily and outgrowing the totally insufficient Kaytee cage that "came with" him when we purchased him. I was going to go for a bigger, more expensive cage because I have trouble settling for anything less than the best when it comes to pets, but decided to try this one first.

My assessment:
- The cage is very well-made. Once it's assembled, it's easy to operate and reasonably uncomplicated to keep clean.
- It was a HUGE pain to put together. The directions are totally insufficient and the diagrams confusing. However, everything made it together in the end.
- It's easy to clean: My guy is 90 percent litter trained and only pees in his corner litter box (unless he's mad), so I just wipe down the bottom every night and then give it a good blast with the hose once a week and it stays pretty clean. However, if you're using bedding throughout and/or your pet is NOT reliably litter trained, the bottom could be a total nightmare to scrub, since it's kind of "ribbed" in a raised square pattern. I really wouldn't recommend it for anyone who anticipates having to scrub off urine deposits--that's hard enough on a totally flat surface.
- The water bottle that comes with the cage is cheap crud. Discard it for a better one.
- The top opens completely for easy access to your pet and makes it easy to take out the water bottle to fill, refill food bowls, etc.
- I like that it has a built-in hideaway/platform. These parts are a little hard to clean and would be annoying if not for the wonderful invention that is the hose.

Bun's assessment (6-pound havana rabbit):
- He is obsessed with laying on top of the platform. Seriously, he's only in the whole rest of the cage to eat and use his litter box.
- He can now get in and out of the front door of the cage with ease, although he did hit his legs/belly the first few times because there isn't a ramp like many cages have.
- He enjoys going in and out of the little hideaway, although the novelty seems to have worn off after a while. Doesn't spend any time under there--just darts in and out.
- There's plenty of room for him to hop around. I'd like for him to have more space, but I think it's fine for a rabbit that spends most of his time free-roaming a house (mine is out for 12 hours per day). I really would get a much larger cage for buns that don't have free range, though. Like, at least double the size.

It's a decent box but for the big size of the cage, the flimsy, thin, soft material is a big problem. If you plan to wash it often, this isn't for you. It'll break apart soon. Think about how often you have to wash, clean it and the damage it does to the cheap plastics by taking it out, moving it around, dissemble part of it and put it back ... I just did my first cleaning by taking it out. I moved it around in/out the house a few times. It was not a good experience. A few small plastic hooks have already broken off easily. My $7 big storage box from Costco feels immensely stronger. Just a caution to others due to the expected short longevity of the box ... Worth the $75? Not if you can find something better. I ended up putting strong plastic cover of a storage box at the bottom hoping not having to clean the entire box & parts too often, only the sturdy storage box cover.

Except for the side door on front that don't slide clear shut after opening I will try to figure out what the issue is every thing else is great plus it looks sturdy with pleasing color
She tried it out in family room before I moved it to its location am sure she was thinking wow I never knew with never running for any office I could be moving in the White House .
She is a little Jersey Wooly Rabbit ball of fur silver color about 4 LB she matches her new house color ./I was planning to remove that end shelf just wish it could be moved higher in the cage her size (she always slept on shelf in old cage ) she has been parked up there today so will see how it goes before moving .
Love the deep bottom pan a great idea design now I can say no more hay and no more anything coming out on the floor.

So this cage is amazing! I have had my fair share of small animal cages in my life from 500$ ones to 50$ ones. And let me tell you, for the price this is the way to go!!! I originally bought the large cage for our 2 little piggies. While they were little this cage was very good. As they grew they were flinging poop when they would run around and just needed more space. Because we liked the large so much due to price, durability, easy clean and accsessories, we decided to just go with the bigger one. I wish I would have just bought it from the start! The room is unbelievable and unbeatable for the price! This cage will be a little harder to clean due to size but overall more simple then some of the cages I have had! The sides of the xl are taller! So no more poop flinging over the sides. If you are trying to decided what size to get, don't make the same mistake I did! Just get the xl now. It is well worth it! Super easy to put together and very durable! The door does not just slide open so no one will escape it has a small bar that you have to lift up and over when you push it open. After 1 year of use on the large cage it still worked like the day we got it! Great cage!
