Thia adapter and a Sandisk SSD didn't work with the mounting system of the Silverstone SG01 case I was using. Bottom holes of the adapter wouldn't mount to the bracket trhat came with the case. I tried a Sabrnet adapter from another PC and it worked perfectly.

Never really liked Rosewill products, but still love the New*gg. Bought both of these adapters from Amazon.
The Rosewill adapter worked fine in a standard case but come on.... how much do holes cost.
The fan could be useful elsewhere. I believe it is a good deal ...

I don't know it the fan is necessary, but it is removable so that you can mount an another SSD in you so desire. The fan could be useful elsewhere. I believe it is a good deal for the price.
Great caddy. Pros

Great caddy.
Pros:
Easy to mound drives
Includes fairly quiet fan
The height of a regular 3.5 HDD so you can still stack other drives above/below it.
Cons:
Fan is only direct power, no controller support (oh well, very minor)
Can only fit 2 SSD's by removing the fan
Mine arrived bent, but it's metal so I easily just bent it back
the 2 drives will sit very close to each other (but there's still ariflow space!) However, that means some Sata and power connecters will not fit very well, such as the connectors from an AX1200i where the power SATA's are quite thick. however, to circumvent this you can have the SSD's facing separate ways and connect them that way, or get adapters that are more flexible or smaller.
The mount works as advertised.

I recently started building PCs using SSD drives for the OS, and conventional hard drives for the data. I purchased the Rosewill SSD mounting kit since it was cheap and the reviews were good.

Build quality is OK for a cheap, plastic drive mount. The package included enough screws to attach the drive to the mount and the mount to the HDD cage. All in all, the mount is cheap and it works.
I almost hated this, but then it turned out okay

I almost hated this, but then it turned out okay. I have an older ssd and just bought a new ssd thus needing this bracket. Initially I wanted to mount my older ssd (slightly thicker) on the bottom, but found there was no way to attach my sata and power cables since it positions the drive to butt right up to the metal. This left zero space for attaching any cables. Talk about a Stupid Design!! luckily my new ssd was thinner and allowed for enough space for it to work.

If your drives are thicker than a 7mm I'd probably steer clear of this bracket
