Great value for the cost

I bought two sets of these so I can have medium and heavy weights on hand during my workouts. I also like the idea of having extra 2.5 and 6 lbs weights to add on as I get stronger. Great value for the cost. I didn't experience the smell that many reviewers mentioned. I wear gloves with these so my hands don't slip when I sweat so I can't comment on the effectiveness of the grip. The weights lock into space nicely and I haven't had to adjust or tighten them yet after a week of daily use.
For $30 im missing a vinyle Spinlock. Dont buy!

These are not worth $30. The box it came in looked like it had been open and used, I payed for New. The box was beyond beat up and the weights are beat up as well. Biggest problem is that it didnt come with all 4 Vinyle Spinlocks, now I have to go buy a separate Spinlock somewhere else for like an extra $6. Huge waste of money and time. Don't buy!

I was cautious buying these because of some critical reviews ... namely that they smell odd and that the weights fall off.
first, the smell is there... it hasn't gone away in he year Ive owned them but it's nothing obnoxious or strong. though everyone's sense of smell is different in terms of sensitivity.
second as for the weights coming off I've never experienced the issue. if your weights are falling off it's because you're dropping your dumbbells like a fool. if you play stupid games you're going to win stupid prizes.

Scary chemical smell

Good dumbbell set but the soft plastic grip has a scary chemical odor that has persisted for months. It's difficult to remove the odor from your hands after a workout. Made in China so I don't trust this chemical exposure. I just purchased different set of dumbbell handles. Save yourself the trouble, buy an all steel & iron set.
and locks were all in good condition and working well

Product as expected. As with most Amazon reviews, not sure how helpful this is since I've really only had the product for a month and I would think longevity would be worth knowing for prospective buyers so I'll update if anything changes. I didn't notice the chemical fumes others have referenced and the weights, bars, and locks were all in good condition and working well. Great for keeping around the apartment for a quick workout. Would buy again.
