Good, but, make sure you plenty on ink
Jon S. Turner•August 30, 2016
Very good, only huge frustration is that when it throws up a "you're out of ink" warning, there is ABSOLUTELY no chance of printing an additional page, even just one or two. I wish it would give you even a 20 page warning to you could have time to order additional ink----but no, right in the middle of the project it tells you "you're out". I know there is a way to open a supported program that will tell you the ink amount left, but, that is not on my daily to do lisk.
Couldn't be more pleased!

I've only used this printer to a limited degree but so far, and I expect it will continue to be a breath of fresh air compared to my old HP Officejet Pro 8500.
When the on button is pushed this printer fires up in a matter of seconds instead of minutes, and is ready to go. No endless cycling and messages like my former printer which got on my nerves shortly after purchase. So far this Epson printer has not wasted ink by repeatedly cleaning the print heads. I've printed approximately two hundred pages, most with color images in them and print heads have not needed cleaning and print quality has not deteriorated that I can see.
Yesterday I printed two envelopes which was a breeze and for those who have never had two paper feeder trays I cannot tell you how convenient it is to have two. Here on Amazon to buy all three ink colors in XL is about half what the HP was and so far seems to be going about as far, but I can't say that for certain yet.
I am happy in every way with this printer and wish I had bought Epson years ago. So far there has only been one problem...I pushed the on button and it did nothing! Oh NO! Then I remembered I needed to turn the power strip on as well. ;) I works great when you provide electricity.

Beware: does not support a wireless and Ethernet connection at the same time

Finally decided to stop giving business to HP, whose printers consistently breakdown within 2 years, and bought this Epson printer, mostly due to good Amazon reviews.
Set up was very easy and well explained. Took a whole of 5 minutes. Wireless set up was very smooth and the Google Cloud Print integration is just AMAZING. I set it up to work with my Google account, and I can then share it (the printer) with anyone, the same way I share a document. My whole family can just print any of their online documents without having to install any driver; magical!
This feature should be on your list of required features, regardless of the printer you buy.
For the rest, time will tell how long this printer last...
The only disappointment is the fact that it does not support wireless and Ethernet connection at the same time. It can do either of those, but not at the same time, which is pretty annoying if like me you have a couple of desktops with no wireless connectivity and a couple of laptops. Took me a while to figure out why none of the desktops could detect the printer on the network. None of the guides mention this and I eventually found the answer on the Epson website, hidden behind a question on USB/Ethernet compatibility. I opted for the wired connectivity, which means I had to disable the wifi connection.
I feel like this should be made clearer before you buy...

A very nice printer for the price.

I have only had this printer for a month. So look to other reviews for long term information. The unit was delivered by UPS in the factory carton, not over (double) boxed. It was packed well for the rigors of parcel shipping. It was also easy to unpack. I set it up to connect over my wireless network, and setup was easy. However, if you use MAC address filtering on your network, the MAC address is listed in WiFi network status page of the WiFi setup menu. There are no address stickers or labels anywhere on the machine itself. Or on the box for that matter. I am a Mac user, so adding the printer was straight forward from the System Preferences menu. However, you still need to install software to use the scanner and other features. Download them from Epson's website, as the CD is out of date already. The printer takes a 'LONG' time to print the first page when sent a print job while it is in standby mode. But once up and running it prints pretty fast. It's a little noisy, but hey it's not a laser printer. Print quality is excellent for home/small business use. This is not a heavy duty printer in my opinion. If you go through a ream or more of paper a month, I suggest you look elsewhere. Text characters are crisp and clear, and color graphics are also excellent. Although this printer prints photos, I would recommend a dedicated "Photo" printer, if photos are your primary task. The scanner produced sharp images, with good color reproduction. The stream feeder is a nice touch. Build quality is excellent considering it is mostly made of plastic. Access to internals for user service and paper jams is easy. This printer, in my opinion is the best compromise of all the other printers in this category/price point from HP, Canon and Brother. I looked at all of them, concluding that buying a car is easier than buying a printer.
Better than what I expected

I was searching for laser all in one printers for quite some time until I found this on sale.
I am glad I purchased this printer.
Pros:
Wi-Fi Connection is awesome. Printer wakes up immediately and responds very fast, too.
Good printing quality/speed, Double-sided printing & copying. (Have not tried photo-printing yet.)
Nice paper feeder on top for Faxing and Copying.
Very nice when Faxing documents
Very nice scanner with software that came with the printer. Easy to use with various save options. (JPEG, pdf, etc)
Cons:
Noticeable Size, but understandable with a monstrous 500 paper capacity. (2 top and bottom 250 capacity trays)
Receiving Fax - sometimes the machine rings and msg shows as "Fax Received" but doesn't print anything. I was concerned
at first about missing important documents but no one has called and asked if I have recieved the fax or not, so far.
Rare paper feeder - It just spits the paper right out the front and uses the paper in the tray.
Black Ink that came with the printer ran out after printing close to 500 papers. So be sure to purchased spare ahead of times.
Overall:
EASY TO SET UP.
EASY TO USE.
Very nice printer with lots of useful options.
