Rice is a staple in my house and I'm very pleased I have this so I don't rely on microwavable rice.

For those of you unsure about the price, consider buying used! I got mine for 130$. Aside from a gash in the original packaging, it was brand new. The gash wasn't even an issue, since it was inside another box.

Quick version:
pros: Everything! Rice tastes absolutely delicious.

insignificant con: had a plastic smell when I first used it, but the food was unaffected. My fault though since I forgot to clean before using.

The rice cooker itself is amazing! It looks well made inside and out. I am used to a conventional cheepo rice cooker and I was impressed by the quality of the inner bowl. Like all non-stick cookery you must be extra careful not to scratch the coating. However, I'm sure this one will last me way longer than the inner bowl in my previous rice cooker. Just be careful with the paddle and dont use anything else to scoop. The rice doesn't stick to the bottom, so scooping hard from the bottom shouldn't be an issue.

I cook haiga rice, so I was a little confused on which setting to use. The correct suggested setting is rice with germ intact. That is, the default white rice setting with a little bit more water added. The texture was phenomenal, but a little stickier than I prefer. I just use the default suggestions for white rice now and it comes out fine.

I cooked some veggie meat (seitan) in foil in the steamer basket while the rice cooked below and both came out perfect! This is definitely going to be used everyday.
Simple to operate; easy to clean.

Easy to cook rice with. Follow the user manual and you really can't mess up. One important thing to note is that this machine has you rinse the rice before cooking. This will impact the type of rice you buy as the fortified rice in super markets will lose their nutrient content with the rinsing process. The steaming basket is super nice and the manual provides you with estimated steaming times for different vegetables. Also a bonus is that you can order replacement parts for the Zojirushi website in the event that some of the more larger parts begin to fail.
Very efficient!

It's been about 6 months since I purchased this Zojirushi Rice Cooker from Amazon through a lightning deal. It's been one of the greatest purchases I've ever made. It's very easy to use and the design is quite compact and easy to store.

I use the Rice Cooker mainly to make rice, and the rice has kept for 5 days before drying out (please don't judge for how long I keep my rice). I've also used it to steam shrimp, broccoli, and homemade char siu bao, and it's worked beautifully 100% of the time. The nice twinkle twinkle little star tune that alerts me when food is done cooking is cute too.

I prefer the Zojirushi brand because it keeps food warm and on standby well without spoiling. The steam release hasn't left any grimy residue, and the inserts plus the inner metal lid comes off easily for cleaning.
