I own two gm vehicles and this unit takes care of the problems I was seeking. Last used on my 99 Tahoe 5.7L to adjust the timing to the CMP retard. Well worth the investment. This unit already paid for itself after a couple of uses instead of taking it to a mechanic shop. Make the updates and registration to get the latest product codes and software.

Worked to help diagnose a problem with my 2000 Galant. There is a web address on the instructions for a downloadable update to the system. Tried to download and Norton AV wouldn't let it install on my computer said that it was a virus. Oh well, didn't need the update to figure out what was wrong with my car. Works fine without the update.

I love this scan tool, I only used it on my 2009 Kia. But I have the update and now I can work on 2017 cars now including hybrids. I think for this price it is worth it. People if you have a really basic scan tool that only does engines, You should really consider upgrading into something like this. My instructor at my local college was impress with this and that's saying something cause they only use high dollar Snap On's.
Also the update also works on windows 10! Just make sure once downloaded you extract the file then begin the process.

Waited to use this on a number of cars prior to reviewing it. I have had zero problems over a variety of cars/trucks. The scanner is quick and gives good information. Accurately scanned every vehicle I tried it on (compared it to the "professional" unit we use in the shop) and the included cord is long enough you can sit in the passenger seat and monitor what is happening while being driven. Has a save feature so you can plug it into your computer later to do additional research.

Here is the inside of a new Mercedes B Class I was working on a few weeks ago. Using the Launch CRP123 VII to do an ECU check and do a diagnostic scan for trouble codes.
Using this creader professional diagnostic scanner I can read the live data and see if there are any fault codes. When reading the live-data, you can do it while in your garage or even while driving the vehicle so you can get more accurate data about the engine performance and other systems such and air and fuel intake values.
If you have multiple ECU's, then the CRP123 VII is perfect for you because it can read the real-time data from each ECU individually so you can get a more accurate read of each system. Here in the video you can see that I can view the data as numbers in a spreadsheet style format or view the individual data outputs through the graphical viewing option. There are 24 different datastreams you can view, you can view them individually or pick multiple items to view together in a graph. About half way through the video you can see that I can select one item or select multiple items to view as a graph.
Here, on the main data menu, towards the end of my video, you can see that we have options to do a complete OBDII/EOBD engine scan, a general electrical systems scan, or review the data we recorded previously. Of course reading, fixing and then clearing trouble codes are what we do mostly at my shop, but this Launch CRP offers you so much access to car systems and information.
For the home mechanic this is a good choice for code scanner. It is easy to learn how to use and gives you access to all the common systems that you can maintain at home. Hope my video helps you out.
