I'm a red velvet fanatic and will try new recipes all the time. However, when making these I just felt disappointed. I was afraid you wouldn't be able to tell when they were done but they had a very beautiful red color when cooked. Then I ate them and I was disappointed. I splurged and bought this which is more than what I is usually spend on my self but hey it was a treat, no red velvet taste to them at all. I followed the ingredients and it came out too thick so I added a little bit more water and it felt more like a pancake mix. I'll finish the jar, but probably won't order again.
Prior to purchasing I read the reviews and some people loved them, so maybe I need to do something differently? Add something extra?

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT..GETTING MORE AS WE SPEAK. WISH IT WAS LARGER BUT MADE AWESOME WAFFLES FOR A SURPRISE ANY KIND OF WAFFLE YOU WANT BIRTHDAY BREAKFAST. IT WAS MY FAVORITE.

I was somewhat disappointed in the taste, but not the texture. Great product but the taste was almost washed out. Not even much cocoa flavor. That was my disappointment. Still looking for great Red Velvet pancake mix.
