Had this for several months. We love that the vent and "cover plate" can be detached and cleaned. Our last rice cooker's "cover plate" did not remove and would get gross between the cover plate and lid.

It has many cooking options for steaming a variety of other foods (standard with most cookers), and the instructions say you can control the sticky and fluffiness of the rice (unusual for cheap cookers). However, we have not tried these cooking options (other than cooking standard white rice) to give a proper review.

Only wish for this rice cooker is for a retractable cord.

UPDATE: the little white plastic "drip catch" in the back broke when we tried to remove it to clean it out (after every use per instructions but, never looked dirty). I would be docking .5 stars for that since it was silly for it to break so quickly but, we do not really think that was a very useful feature anyway. I give 4.5 stars instead of the 5.

I got got this for about $110 here on Amazon. I saw it at a Korean grocery store for $200 so I'm glad I bought it here. I can keep my rice in it for a week and its still good though it starts to yellow by about the 3rd day.

It makes just one cup of (uncooked) rice very nicely as well, but you need to estimate the water level since the first water line starts at 2 cups. This size allows me to make small portions for just myself and also cook more for larger parties.

Make sure that when you buy a rice cooker, you check whether the number of cups is cooked or uncooked. Asian rice cookers usually lists the capacity as uncooked cups of rice and other rice cookers are generally cooked cups of rice. So an 8 cup capacity rice cookers can be very different sizes depending on whether it is cooked or uncooked.

I've been using this steadily for rwo years now and it has been very excellent and reliable. Minor cons - high contrast marking would be better on the inner pot, and setting the timer is not intuitive. But i use it only for rice, tho it does do other things, and the rice always comes out perfect so that's what counts.

Just get it. I spend $500, $300 worth rice cooker past few years and both got issues and throw away. This rice cooker has same botton and available to cook different rice and reheat botton also. I love this one so much its made in korea and cooking pot is just strong and just right weight to hold everyday. Dont spent more money from cuckoo. Just get this one and same as $500 cuckoo. Its better than ih japanese cooker . Reason why japanese rice cooker was needed because to cook sushi rice. I dont need to make sushi rice so i change to this korean rice cooker.

This is literally such a cute rice cooker. I definitely expected it to be a lot bigger and bulkier but it's not which is a pleasant surprise. I'm the only one who eats healthy grains and rice in my house so this is the perfect "personal" size for me. I'm obsessed with the color and the quality of the cooker itself. It's plastic but very shiny and glossy and durable feeling. The set up wasn't too bad..it took me a few times to get the time set up LOL but with time and practice I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. I presoaked some mixed grains when I saw the order was out for delivery and they soaked for about 1 hour. I'll come back to update the review whenever the rice is finished!
