EVERYTHING you need to fix your old dryer in one box, with instructions!
Michael G.•August 10, 2017
Thank you for having a COMPLETE, kit to repair my Sears-Kenmore dryer!
My washer/dryer combo has been in use since 1993/94. The past few years it has made a LOUD squeaking noise. It wasn't until the heating element stopped working that I decided to take the dryer apart to see what was wrong. Not any surprise to me, all was wrong! The drive BELT was frayed, the nylon clips on the drum ring were broken, the bearing wheel was warn down - flat instead of round, and finally the nylon holder for the drum was melted away due to all the friction. I am happy to say that EVERYTHING I needed was in this kit, including instructions on what to do!!

Moving parts replacements for cheap!
Erik D. Hilsinger•May 31, 2017
This was the awesomest path to rehabilitating the dryer. Face it the new dryers and washers are sad shadows of the appliances of the past. Having the full batch of components to repair the moving and bearing parts of the dryer at this price point is super.
A great deal given the alternative of calling a repair man ...

Another product that has saved me many hundred of dollars. My dryer was making noise, and this kit seemed to have everything needed to give the dryer a major overhaul. It did, and it worked. Taking apart the dryer, replacing all of these parts and back together again was maybe an hour to an hour and a half. A great deal given the alternative of calling a repair man or buying a new one. I still am not sure which part was bad, but I figured with this kit, I would not have to guess, and I would not run the risk of taking it apart more than once.
Like getting a new dryer cheap

My dryer started squealing intermittently two or three months ago, and it only got worse, of course. Looked it up and found I needed a new rear bearing. Since the full refurbish kit wasn't much more than twice the cost of the bearing parts it was a no brainer. The instruction that came with the kit were spot on. Be sure to read over them first, especially where it covers taking off the top and front panels - there are differences between models and I almost took out a pair of screws I didn't need to (or should have). The order of operations seems to be intended to allow time for the glue holding the felt to dry (you do the felt first, then the drum bearing, idler pulley, etc.). I spent about 2 hours working I think. I let the glue dry an extra hour while I took a break. Also spent some time cleaning it - unbelievable amount of lint in the duct where I could never get at it while the dryer was together.
Tips:
Instructions said to use a paint scraper to push back the top clips, but a flat blade screwdriver worked fine.
Use a razor blade type scraper to remove the last of the felt and the old glue - makes quick work of it. (However, there wasn't room near the bottom where the duct was to easily maneuver he wide blade so I used a 3/8" wood chisel there - I needed to sharpen it anyway.)
Finally, there is a "grounding ball" that sits in the back of the drum bearing socket. It wants to fall out and get lost. I just put a piece of Scotch tape over the hole on the inside, pushed the ball into it from behind, and it stayed put while I mounted the socket. Then I peeled off the tape. (That worked fine, but it occurred to me later if the ball was magnetic I could have held it in place with a small magnet. You might want to try that.)

Frigidaire 5304461262 Dryer Maintenance Kit from Broan

I ordered and used this Frigidaire 5304461262 Dryer Maintenance Kit to change out the back bearing knob and seat felt pads and belt on my dryer, due to a noise it had developed. I really feel about anyone could do this repair, if you would go to YouTube and watch a couple of maintenance videos on the subject as this is about a 2 or 3 on a scale of 10 for difficulty to perform successfully. It takes about an hour to two hours to complete, based on your abilities, tools you have and if you can move the dryer out of a small laundry room, like I did, into a larger area to get at everything. Parts go in easily and the felt removal on the front of the dryer section that fits into the front of the drum, being the most time consuming. I like it well enough, the quiet dryer a lot !
