Works fine for the price and reason purchased.

Receives well (loud enough, clear audio) on AM/AM and WX bands with plenty of volume; don't usually use earphones/earbuds since not needed to simply get a WX or news update or have background music playing. Tuning is a bit finicky, but already knew that from reading other reviews; just take your time and it works ok. Bought it to carry hiking for a backup WX/news info source out of cell range (or to save batteries in the cell or portable Ham radio), and it appears it'll work fine for this purpose. Actually using it a lot just sitting in the truck for lunch, waiting for appointments, waiting on the wife, etc. to save the truck battery. For hiking I drop it in a small zip lock bag sandwiched in foam with a couple of spare lithium batteries to last the trip or multiple trips. Hard to beat for the cost/size/weight. Don't intend to abuse it, but if I accidentally drop the pack on it I'm not out a bundle of cash. Definitely 5 stars for what I paid and the purpose I bought it for. Yes, the antenna is fragile, but if lowered starting from the thicker sections instead of trying to slap the antenna closed by smashing it down from the top I've had no trouble. Usually only need to extend one or two of the thicker sections for decent reception, anyway. It's a keeper.
THIS IS THE ONE. THIS ONE. Look no further. THIS IS THE ONE.

Radio sounds WAY better than anticipated, rich sound not tin can. Picks up LOTS of stations on all bands, WEather band is great, Tune light is very nice. This is the one to get, THIS ONE> look no further. Its a good one. Very light very easy to hold and use. AA batteries last a long time.
Very Pleased

I purchased the Kaito 210 for emergency use only. I did test it upon arrival and found to my surprise that it performed much better than radios that I have had before. What I noticed first of all is that audio was clear with no static. I keep it in a small box with a small emergency light where I can get it when if ever I need it. If you do not use it very often remove the batteries. I tape the batteries to the back of the 210 so they are easy to get when needed. Great unit for the price.
Yep, does the job

I bought this because I was looking for a cheap, compact AM/FM/NOAA radio for emergencies that runs on AA. My expectations for this thing were pretty low, but it has surprised me so far.

Pros:
- Build quality is good. Everything fits together tight and the controls feel substantial.
- It tunes fairly well if you've got it pointed in the right direction, and even has an indicator light to show when you're in tune.
- It's loud. The speaker amp can push harder than the speaker is capable of handling, and the headphone amp is surprisingly good with a decent pair of headphones. I tried it with my AKG K92's just for kicks and it was actually not bad.
- It's actually a bit smaller and lighter than I expected. About an inch taller than a pack of playing cards, and about the same weight.

Cons:
- This is nit picky, but the feet on the bottom could be a bit better. If it really bothers you, it's nothing a little hot glue couldn't fix.

Altogether a great "just in case" item for around the house, or for a get home bag. Personally, I wouldn't bring it hiking, but I'll probably have it for years with light use.
Cheap junk - don't buy it - waste of money.

Really a very small radio with poor tuning control and volume control. Harsh sounding speaker. Very cheap plastic construction and not good quality as compared to the compact Sony radio. I would return it but didn't realize I was going beyond the return date as I was out of town for a week. Don't waste your money on this, it should be sold for five dollars at the most.
