This ramp works great!

I have 2 large goldens and a Jeep Wrangler that we use as a tow vehicle for our camper. The pups are extremely selective about whether or not they'll be inclined to jump into the back of the Jeep when we need to take them somewhere. Since my Jeep is black and they both have cream/white fur, I don't want them to ride in the back seat because we'll never be able to have people who would want to sit in that hairy mess! I bought this ramp and it's been a godsend in being able to get the dogs into the back of the Jeep. It's sturdy but very lightweight so that I can hold both dogs (and they are not well behaved on leash most times) with one hand and set up the ramp with the other hand and then just march them right up the ramp into the back. It folds up nicely and has a handle that allows me to collapse it and stick it either in the back with the dogs or on the floor of the back seat.
It was wide enough to make him and me comfortable regarding footing

I bought this for my 11-year-old large (80 lb) Lab mix who could no longer jump into my Outback. I also wanted it to aid his transition from ground to vehicle following back surgery (him, not me). He is too heavy for me to lift and after several days of gradual habituation, he had no qualms about using it. The surface is no-slick sand-paper-like and he never lost his footing, which would have frightened him. It was wide enough to make him and me comfortable regarding footing, especially since his hindquarters were losing coordination due to the back problem.

I began by placing the ramp folded into the smaller length flat on a floor in a narrow hallway where he would have to walk over it to get to where he wanted to go. After two days, I opened it to the second section; after three days I opened it all the way.

Next, I placed the double length on the first step of my stairway to the upstairs where we all sleep. I blocked the sides so he would have to walk up the ramp to the second step. After two nights I opened it all the way and placed it on the second step. The next two nights I placed it on the third step. I never "trained" him to use it; only made it a routine part of access to areas he wanted to get to. I never made a big deal of his using it and I walked on it to so he could follow.

The next day I introduced the ramp into the vehicle and with stinky cheese, urged him to walk all the way into the cargo area of the car. He did so without a blink. I took him to one of our favorite places--a lake with a natural path for a walk. This way he associated the ramp with a new freedom to be able to get into the car again and go someplace fun.

By the time I had to load him for his trip to the hospital for back surgery, he knew the ramp meant he could go with me anywhere. By "loading" the association of the ramp with pleasant experiences before the hospital trip, he did not separate the experience and associate the ramp with the vet office. Mission accomplished!

Great product; wide, non-slip, sturdy, did not wobble or creak, never slid off the bumper (a sure way to instill fear in a dog). Easy to fold up, not too heavy, easy to store. Solid sections when folded all the way out--no bounce. Bought sight unseen but I am very impressed! Good value price-wise too.

High quality. Holds up very well to our 90 lb (1 year old) Newfie. I don't find it to be slippery as some other reviewers mention, but have not used it in the rain yet. Our dog is slightly afraid to go up the ramp, she is a giant breed and has a wide stance, while we were training her on the ramp in the house one of her back legs slipped off and that seems to have stuck with her - she does best if I stand to the side and block one side so that she cannot accidentally step off again.

When folded it takes up more space than we expected, about 20% of the space in the back of our Ford Escape. Our (not so little) puppy wants to walk around in the back of the car while we're driving and (obviously) this gets in the way. We have been putting the ramp on the floor of the middle seat and that is working well for us so far.
Maybe for 20lb dogs with no hair and soft shoes. :(

Had it for 10 minutes. Opened box, and then the other box inside. BAMM, feeling like christmas. NOPE. Betty, our 115lb mastiff began to walk up, it bowed, she, in a panic, tried to get up ramp, nails scratching for security. The grip-tape, shredded like soft cheese through a grater. Because the grip tape is most like a 110 grit sandpaper, her hair stuck to the grip-tape-sand-paper. Poorly Built. Sorry, I hate to leave negatives.

Boxing and sending back. Luckily I know the FAIL before our trip.

Yes it is inexpensive.... and you get what you pay for.
Better for their joint health

Lifted Jeep. Works really well with both of our large dogs. Better for their joint health.
