These steps are average I would not pick them for my small dog, she is having problems getting on the couch with them they do stay together as a step but the tops want to come loose and she is now afraid to use them.

Still training our old Dachshunds to use these steps, they are 13 years old so its a challenge. Steps are made well, a little tricky to assemble with the zippers holding the steps together. They are sturdy once you get them together

We have a ten week old puppy who enjoys sitting in our laps but isn't tall enough to jump up on her own. We ordered these steps so that she could easily join us on the couch. Now that she is a little taller, it has become a puppy parkour set. She loves to jump off the steps, just like a child. These steps assembled quickly and easily, however, after a few weeks we noticed that the zippers were starting to fall and become unzipped on their own. I have been able to store some unused toys in the steps. Our 63 pound American Bully has also used the steps due to have bad hips and the steps held his weight with no issues. Our 60 lb black lab refuses to use them.

We bought the 3 step size and she runs up and down them and has not slipped, fallen or stumbled on these at all! Now later I will get the higher ones to go in the bedroom too!
