Works for large and small dogs!

I purchased this to help get my 3 dogs into my lifted Jeep Wrangler. One large 115#, 1 medium 75#, 1 small 35#. The medium and large could jump in and out, but the smaller one couldn't. I didn't want the larger ones to jump down as it's hard on their joints, and since I like to take them with me as much as possible, they could make a lot of jumps down. It took me about 10 quality treats each to get them all comfortable going up and down. The Jeep Wrangler back door opens left/right, so the safety hook doesn't work, but it wasn't an issue. I would highly recommend that when your pet is going up or down, you hold the padded handle with downward pressure to keep it from moving. The stairs open easily, and fold down nicely. For my Jeep, I used a couple of bungee cords to secure it standing up to the side roll at at the back to save room. I looked at about every option and took a chance on this one. I think it will work out great. The stair pads may be the part that wears out first, but nothing a rile of 100mph tape can't fix. This isn't a fashion item, it's a tool. I would recommend having a small towel with it to dry off the steps if your pets feet are wet. Probably won't hurt it, but will keep your car clean. Good luck with your pets. I'm giving this a solid 4, because if you give to many 5's, manufacturers stop improving! But it could be a five!

It folds done nicely and comes with straps to carry. It's nice and lightweight. It took our dog about three tries with some treats to lead her up the steps. She is 100 pounds and it holds still under her weight.

We got this almost 2 years ago and I don't think I wrote a review. We used it again today and I realized I had to recommend this. We had a ramp for years that none of our dogs liked or used. Then we had these plastic stairs and our current dog would go up them but not down. After knee surgery we didn't want him jumping from the car. Ordered these. Canines and humans are very, very satisfied!
My dog was able to get into the back of my small SUV under her own steam.

I will admit, I didn't expect a whole lot from this. But I did need something to help my dogs get into the back of my truck without taking up much space. This fit the bill. It is way more sturdier than it looks, and I can fold it up with one swoop in one arm. Pretty cool. I would call this one of Amazons little gems. My dogs use it to get in the back of my Chevy Colorado. It's definitely on the highest end of extending without being too akward, so if your truck has a lift or anything, it might get steep. But it works great for me and my pups on my truck. Doesn't feel like it's built like typical "overseas cheap".
