Durable and easy
Clayton Taylor•August 12, 2018
I saw this first on a Facebook ad and thought it was so cool but expensive so it wasn't a necessity. As our dogs get older though, we start to worry about them jumping out of the SUV, especially since one has already had leg surgery for a dog ACL. Anyway, we finally decided to pull the trigger. I called their customer service number and ended up talking with the owner because they seem to be a small mom and pop shop. I was calling to ask about sizing for our SUV and he explained that even if I wasn't happy with the size I did get I could easily add on another step with basic tools and low cost. In the end the size he suggested worked just fine and no need to add a step. It took the dogs a few different trips to get 100% comfortable with the steps but now they just walk right up and no longer try and go around them to jump in or out. Quality seems without compromise. This thing is super easy to handle. I grab the whole thing and sling it out to extend it but you can also easily set it on the ground and pull it up to the bumper so it works for all ages. I am a detail person and I've always got an observation (my wife calls it a complaint) about something but with these steps it was just a great invention with a good build execution. Happy to reccomend to any other big dog owners.
Pleasantly Surprised

I was hesitant to spend the money and did research on ramps vs. steps. Our boy tore his ACL in one leg and had to have a pricey surgery. I don't want him to need a second surgery on the other leg so I decided to go with Petloader. You get what you pay for - and this option is great. Buck took to it right away - he didn't like being lifted in and out of the truck - at 80 pounds we didn't like lifting him LOL! Easy to unfold, fold, it's compact for how stable it is and the handle is convenient. I like that it is carpeted too. We brought it in the house first and let Buck get used to it. I didn't open it but had him put his front paws on it and eventually sit on top of the folded unit a few times. Then we unfolded it, set it up on the truck and Buck walked right up the steps. It's very sturdy and I think feeling solid and sure footed helped with the easy transition. I'm really pleased with the product and so is Buck.

Overall this is a very sturdy device and is incredibly easy to open

Overall this is a very sturdy device and is incredibly easy to open, set up, and close down. I was needlessly worried about the weight and don't find this heavy at all. One of my two dogs took to going up easily, however down took a little more coaxing. My other dog is terrified of it, but we are working on it and making progress! The only improvement I would like to see is a ribbed type of carpeting with a rougher texture on the steps. The current material is a little too smooth and allows for some little slippage of the paws which makes my dogs a little more anxious. Overall it is a well thought out design and a snap to set up as well as fold back down.
Be careful...looks can be deceiving

Steps were solidly constructed, but very bulky and awkward to lift in and out of my SUV. My dog didn't feel "safe" because he's #130 and very tall and long. The steps were too narrow for him to feel comfortable on them. I purchased them because of his recent knee surgery and his leg muscles were not stable enough to support his body onto the steps.
