Love it but wish it was updated

I'd purchased my first Logitech keyboard in 2016. It died, and I immediately ordered this one. Needed improvements include: on/off button moved to the front, a wider cavity for a device that's in a case, a mousepad, and a booklet with keyboard shortcuts.
Well constructed keyboard that easily switches between devices

My iMac keyboard gave up the ghost about 6 months ago after many years of service. Soon after, my employer switched us to working from home, so I now had my iMac, my work laptop, and two monitors on my desk, and I decided to get a compatible keyboard with both my iMac and windows-based work laptop.
That item (not the logitech) was horrible. As my employer is now telling the workforce that we'll be at home until the end of January 2021, I decided it was time to replicate my work desk setup and get a keyboard that didn't frustrate me. As I've been using a Logitech track pad with the iMac and love that, the Logitech products were given a thorough examination.
While I wanted a full-sized keyboard with a number keypad, I was willing to skip that (I can drag out the crappy keyboard if I need to type in a lot of numbers). The many positive comments about this keyboard and ability to pair with 3 devices and easily switch between them was the feature that got me to choose it, and I'm glad it did.
The keyboard itself is compact, but the keys are a standard size. The orientation of keys differs from my full size keyboards and the laptop's compact layout. However, it only took a couple of days to become comfortable with this design, and I've even been able to use the arrow keys without having to look down at the keyboard to locate them. YMMV, but it isn't a far reach, and the angle of these keys makes it easy to identify up, down, left and right.
Even better, the keyboard I replaced was produced by a company that specializes in Mac accessories, yet, none of the Mac function keys worked as expected with it. The Logitech handles most of these with ease. While I can't toggle with F3 on the Mac, it does Command-Shift-Tab just fine, as well as screen grabs with Cmd-Shift-3 and Cmd-Shift-4. I haven't played enough with the rest of the Mac functions, but those are my go-to buttons in my line of work, so it is nice to see that I don't lose Mac functions on a dual compatible device.
The bluetooth pairing was extremely easy, taking less than 2 minutes on both the Windows based laptop and the iMac, and now, it's a simple turn of the knob. I haven't decided which device to pair into that third slot, but it may be my phone to save me from fat fingering texts when it spends most of the time sitting on my desk. It takes less than 5 seconds to be recognized by the selected device - I just need to remember that I've switched devices.
When I bought this keyboard, I hadn't realized that it was truly designed to be used with iPads and other tablet devices. The channel in the top of the keyboard holds an iPad securely, though it usually has my phone or a pen lately. If your intent is for use with a tablet, it will hold it at a slight angle out, maybe 10 degrees.
Overall, I'm glad I didn't take the low price to mean that this wouldn't be a worthy contender for use with both Windows and Mac computers. It'd still be a great value at double the price, as it does the job well .
This may not matter to you, but it replaced a keyboard that was rather flimsy and this is solid. There's a heavy battery inside, and it looks like it will withstand being dropped. The thickness of the body means that it doesn't need legs to prop it up, a design feature that pleases me.
To be honest, I was prepared to spend $100 to get a keyboard that satisfied my need to use one keyboard for both of the computers on my desk.

LOGITECH - Quality and Reliability are still KEY (pun intended)!
Mark One✓ Verified Purchase•September 12, 2023
Several years ago I bought a Bluetooth keyboard for use with one of my electronic devices and the stupid thing stuttered. Every time I typed a key it would show it twice. I searched and searched online for a fix for this and was unable to find one. In the past, I've purchased computer mice and keyboards from other big name companies and almost every time there has been some sort of hassle: you don't have the right driver, it's not compatible with your device, you need to install this invasive software, etc. So it was with some trepidation that I decided to purchase this keyboard.
The KEY (pun intended) deciding factor was the brand name LOGITECH!
Although I've only purchased 3 or 4 different devices from LOGITECH, without fail, they have been plug in, turn on, work! I have NEVER had a problem with a LOGITECH device, PERIOD! It has been several years since I've purchased from them and it seems that their insistence on QUALITY and RELIABILITY has not wavered.
Okay, so the Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480. Just buy one!
It is a substantial keyboard, meaning that it has some heft to it and it's solidly built. It's size is 11 1/2" wide X 7 1/2" long X just over 1/2" thick. If it's not regulation keyboard size it's pretty damn close. I was able to touch type on it immediately without having to adjust how I type.
As usual, LOGITECH, realizing that people today have more than one device has made this keyboard switchable to three different devices. I recently purchased a new tablet and wanted to use the old one with this keyboard as a "typewriter" that I could easily take to work. I HATE onscreen keyboards because I'm a touch typist and I can type much faster on a keyboard than any teenage girl can thumb-type on her cell phone! So the first job was to pair the keyboard with my old tablet...took less than five minutes and that includes the time I took to go to the LOGITECH site and read through their documentation. WORKED PERFECTLY! Absolutely no delay in keyboard to tablet. It was as though I was typing on a typewriter!
This morning I thought I might have a need to use the keyboard with my new tablet, so I turned the selector to "2" and paired my new tablet as well. WORKED PERFECTLY!
Then I thought, "oh yeah, one of the reasons I'd started looking for a Bluetooth keyboard, that I'd since forgotten (duh!) was that I'd recently purchased a Fire stick and HATED their onscreen keyboard (no surprise there!). So I took the keyboard into the living room and sat on the couch and turned the selector to "3" and paired it with my Fire TV. WORKED PERFECTLY!
I shouldn't really be surprised as LOGITECH has a perfect track record with me. I guess they take the extra time to make sure that their devices work as they are designed to do and work out any bugs before they release them to the marketplace, unlike many other companies.
Since I'm using this keyboard on Android type devices I really don't have a lot of use for a lot of the computer type keys, but I'm sure that some others out there will make use of them and critique them for you. The fact that this keyboard can be used with three different devices with the turn of a dial and that it can be used with Windows/Apple/Android devices makes it one of the most flexible on the market and the LOGITECH brand name ensures that it is a QUALITY product, which my experience has proven has not faltered.
I don't usually spend this much time on reviews. Amazon nags me about reviews of items that I've purchased and I will usually type one or two lines just to get them to SHUT UP! But this keyboard reminded me how reliable and serious LOGITECH is about providing electronic devices that do what they are supposed to do and prompted me to make sure that I wrote a review that I hope will encourage you to buy one!
Because of another review I also purchased a carry case for it at the same time and I am rather pleased with it.
It's great because the mesh area that they show with a cable in it is big enough for me to put my old tablet in and so I have one case with the keyboard and tablet. So it's my own version of an old fashioned typewriter case!

Great portable BT Keyboard
Schirmyver✓ Verified Purchase•September 6, 2023
This is a very nice portable, multi-device, BT keyboard. It is very easy to setup and switch between connected devices and the slot on top is great for phones or tablets. I use this as part of a Samsung Dex setup with my phone and portable monitor.
Love, love, love this keyboard!

I'd had my eyes on wireless keyboards and snagged a great deal on this one during a Prime Day sale. It works beautifully with my iPhone. My only complaint is that it came with a sticker on it that has SETUP instructions on it. Of course, after setup I peeled it off and it left a ton of adhesive on the keyboard. I tried to remove it with Goof Off and it damaged the keyboard (cosmetically) a little bit so I'm annoyed that the sticker didn't peel off easier. Other than that, this was a WIN!
