We used these the day they arrived (saw someone using them in our pool and they loved them). My husband and I use them together - we both work our right arm and then switch. I love these dumbbells!!. I had been using the foam ones offered at our pool. I started having pain in my left chest area (I had open heart surgery) so I decided I would try these dumbbells. They work so much better, still get a good workout and there is resistance underwater in all directions, not just the pulling under like when the foam type dumbbells. **I noticed that it really works the core better, because when doing crunch move or working oblique muscles, because I use lighter grip and not for as much buoyance as foam, so I control/use core/oblique muscle more. I had researched these and read the results and so glad I chose to purchase these dumbbells.
Good workout - but mark the endcap where you can't add water!

Same as what I use at my local gym. Good workout, especially when you fill the tube with water. However, it is always a guessing game as to which plastic cap you should unscrew, since only one end allows you to add water. Both end caps do come off when you unscrew them. I used a Sharpie to make an X on the one that does not let me add water. I always seem to pick the wrong end! I think both are needed to keep the dumbbell balances.
