Our old rice cooker was on its last legs after 16 years, so we saved up to get one of these new hi-tech rice cookers. We were wrestling between a Cuchen and a Cuckoo - and from what we were told, they are very comparable. We did read some reviews that stated the latch on the Cuchen that holds the inner lid piece did have a tendency to break, so we opted for the Cuckoo, which holds the inner lid with a circular metal latch.

The instruction manual is horrible and a pain to decipher. Takes some focus and effort - but eventually one figures out how to use this thing. Be aware - it comes out of the box speaking Korean - so you will want to navigate to English. Most of the useful rice cooking functions are easily accessed and most others we won't even bother looking at.

The rice does cook very fast and well. The induction heating along with the pressure cooking works wonders compared to our old machine. The same rice we have been cooking for years came out more flavorful and with much better texture. Definitely made a believer out of me.

I give 5+ for its functionality and look.

This is our 2nd Cuckoo Rice Cooker which we are replacing after 7 yrs of usage.
First, looks is very slick and reminds of high-tech gadget. It fits our kitchen well under the cabinet.
Surface has is a bit of grove so I think it won't scratch while cleaning. Inside pan is a bit heavier than last one.
In addition, it has NFC which you can use your Android phone - download app - and set few things initially.
However, I found this NFC is least used feature.

Except those changes, basic functionality was pretty much same.

However, I have noticed it keeps rice wormer much longer and keep it fresh.
And it goes to automatic energy saver quite nicely.

But, for the value, you might get better value with lower priced one.
I feel this is a bit over priced as they have packed features that I don't use much.

for sure, it does produce a quality rice cooked ( Sticky rice ) and my Korean mother-in-law loves it.

If you enjoy rice and perfectly prepared rice (I mean PERFECTLY), this amazing machine is the one. I have never tasted such incredible rice in my life, and I have had a couple of higher end Japanese fuzzy logic machines over the years.

The machine is well built and looks like a beautiful, curvy space ship complete with a blue LED control panel. It's extremely well-made, with solid, hefty stainless components. The inside pot is also substantail. I am truly blown away. I would love to see more of these in the US market -- they are remarkable and far exceed their competition.

It even speaks! The voice helps you navigate, as the machine is rather complex. The default language is Korean, so I recommend changing the language as your first step if you are an English speaker (it's not intuitive to do this, so reference the manual).

PROS: Life-changing rice goodness! It's well made and cooks brown, mixed, white, sushi, glutinous and gaba rice. It also rises and bakes bread and cooks soup and porridge. A count-down indicator lets you know when your rice will be done cooking. The voice provides helpful information and has day and night volume controls. Settings are highly customizable, from cooking speed to rice softness. The operation is quiet except when steam is vented near cooking completion (you hear a short burst as steam releases). And, it has a cleaning cycle. It's also easy to clean manually. It's a machine you can grow into as you learn its various functions.

CONS: This is not for someone who enjoys an on/off cooker experience. I think reading the manual is critical to understand this sophisticted machine -- and the manual is not always understandable as there are translation errors or sentences that are not entirely clear. So there will be learning and fiddling (though I think that's half the fun). There aren't a lot of supplemental resources online either, so you need to be the adventurous type if you want to make more than simple white rice. It's also an expensiv machine. While I think it's well worth the investment, if you honestly cannot distinguish between well-prepared and regular old cooked rice, this machine would not be worth your time or money.

The device appears to be very stable and made ok. However, I received the scratched cooker. "Scratch resistant" stainless still bowl was scratched. Also, some of the buttons did not respond well. Returning.

I, like most people, was skeptical when my friend told me about this brand of rice cooker given the cost but this is actually the second Cuckoo I have purchased only because I love cooking in it so much that I wanted to get a larger one.

In addition to the obvious features of making excellent rice and auto-cleaning, I have found that this also does an amazing job with some of the staples I regularly cook like ribs, roasts, and soups. I have permanently retired my old rice cooker (obviously) as well as my crock pot and pressure cooker as this Cuckoo does everything those did, but better.
