Updated 12/26 to 5 stars. The company reached out to me after seeing my original review and were kind enough to send me a replacement light so I didnt have to go through the amazon return process. This new light works great just like the first one I recieved 2 years ago. I am very pleased with the customer service as they could of just ignored me, but instead reached out to me numerous times to make sure the new light worked and that I was satisfied. Now both my monitors are lit up and I dont have to use the overhead light to see at my desk.

I bought this same light 2 years ago and I love it. I wanted a second one now that I have dual computer monitors (I have the original one plugged into the back of my monitor). The one I recieved yesterday... when you plug it in, it flickers then cuts off. I tried multiple USB outlets to no avail (monitor, lamp, wall, etc). Can't seem to find the company's contact info to see if maybe I got a dud. Or maybe the quality went downhill. At any rate its useless.

The merchant was so nice to send me another light strip after my initial review. This one works fine. It's been about a month and it hasn't broken so I'd like to update my review. The merchant definitely deserves a thumbs up, and I'll purchase this item again!

OLD REVIEW:
I ordered two of the white/warm lights last month and was super excited when they arrived. They worked great for about 2 days before the first one broke. I returned it and kept the other. But this week when I was gonna turn it on to put on makeup I realized the second broke as well! I checked the outlet to make sure it has power. Nope, the light just wouldn't turn on. It's dead.

That's two broken lights in a little over a month. I wanted to return the second one but unfortunately I'm a few days passed the return period. Now I'm stuck with a broken light that's no use to me or to anyone. I really wanted to like this product, but the quality of the lights just wasn't good. If you're looking to buy, please consider other options so you don't end up wasting your money like me.

UPDATE: I bought a replacement after two years - light started blinking, hence the below review. But it wasn't the light, it was the USB outlet (not part of the light kit). I just swapped the old light for the new and the new light also was blinking. So I grabbed an Apple 10w USB block (have a ton hanging around) and BOTH lights worked perfectly. I ended up installing both lights using a pair of Apple 10w blocks. Upgraded review to 5-stars, good simple switch operation light that fits a narrow space.

The light is thin and fit in a narrow channel along a mirror. Its simple, straightforward operation is a plus. The light started blinking after about two years of less than strenuous use. An LED should really last longer. I just ordered a second because it fits well and will be an easy swap rather than searching for a new light and dealing with a new install. Plus, it's not all that expensive. Might give it a 3.5 if I could, to roll overall value into it.

I bought 2 units of this, and used one for my desk lamp and one as a portable light, after 2 weeks of use.

The LED died, and i found that the two points of solder contact was loose, so i would need to strip down the wire and re solder them to the circuit board.

Using it in a fixed position, would not cause any problems, but if it is used as a portable unit, with lots of movement of the power cord, it would definitely break the solder contact points.

Would suggest that people using it as a portable unit to secure the point of contacts with something stronger than the glue in use.

An update to this review, Qooltek got in touch with me and agreed to send me 2 more units as replacement for the buggy units, and i am very happy with their customer service. Very prompt and responsive, due to some logistical issues, they could not get the units shipped, so they gave me a full refund, and i promptly bought another 2 units with the refund.

Update 12/11/17: About a day after my review the company contacted me and offered to send a replacement item free of charge. I received it about a week later and it is an improvement over the old one, however after about 5 minutes the lights still start to blink. I emailed them to let them know and they immediately tried to replicate and troubleshoot my issue. The issue turned out to be the plug I was using, it was getting very hot and when it got too hot, the light couldn't handle it. Switching plugs seems to have fixed the issue and I have had no problems so far. I am updating my review to 5 stars because the product now works without issue, and the customer service has been excellent. This was a minor inconvenience for a very inexpensive light and I would definitely purchase again.

I used the magnets to mount it to the magnetic back of my desk, and it works great as a vanity/makeup station for me. I bought the cool and warm light combo, however I find that the lights are the best when they are both on. The cool white is very white, while the warm light is very yellow. Both together creates a very natural light, which is what I prefer for using as a vanity/putting on makeup. Otherwise they are very bright and work well, and if I was writing or using a computer I could see the different light colors coming in handy.

Attaching the magnets was easy, however the cord does block one of the slots where the magnet screws go, so when you use a screwdriver (I used the small one that came with the light) it digs into the coating on the cord and scratches it. I was careful to not damage it too much but it was unavoidable since the cord can't be moved completely out of the way. I used the 3 cord clips to mount the cord to the side of my desk using the provided sticky pads, they fell off a few times but with pressure they have stayed on so far. I also used the provided sticky circles to stick the switch to the desk as well and have been able to reposition it a few times.

The only issue I have found is that today the lights (both lights, on together and on separately) started rapidly blinking. It did not stop when turned off and immediately turned back on, but did stop after they were switched off for several minutes. I have only had the light about a week and have used them every day and this is the first issue I have had, however I am concerned that this is the start of a bigger issue.
