Worked for 1 yr 4 months. Remote and light sensor no longer working and light is stuck on max brightness (seen other reviews people had same issue). This was kinda fidgety since day one but just got worse over time. So basically Finnex hasn't figured out how to make a good remote/light sensor. Why can't they make a remote/sensor like Current USA does? I NEVER had one of those fail me.
Pro's :
1) 24/7 feature was nice but I wish in middle of the night it went off and then turn on in the AM like my Current USA light loop system for my saltwater aquarium.
2) easy to set up
3) the light on max was ok for plants but I think my friends Fluval planted light was brighter/stronger.
Con's:
1) Remote looks like a cheap toy.
2) Sensors are terrible
3) plastic extenders easily fall out.

Stopped working after only 1 year of use. Currently waiting for a response from the manufacturer

The unit stopped responding to the remote after one year. Meaning when plugged in it is on at 100% but unable to be turned off. Without the remote (and yes I replaced the battery and followed the troubleshooting instructions in the manual) the light is useless. I expected a light that cost 130 USD to last a lot longer. Hopefully they will offer some remedy, but the manufacturer's warranty is only 6 months long.
Good but not great: 3.5 stars

I give this product 4 stars for the following reasons:
Pros: really nice slim design and feels very well built, can regulate color hues and change them, 24 hour mode that gradually changes in accordance to the time of day. Note: only about 85-90% accurate to time of day.
Cons: comes with a sensor (see picture) that is attached to a cable and then to the light. I see having the long cable pointless because I had to position the sensor on top of the light and tie the cable just so it can detect the signal from the remote. This makes gives an unsightly look to the setup, just my opinion. Should have just attached the sensor directly to the light. The remote feels cheap and glitches a lot, I mean a lot. Most times I have to turn of the light via the remote (appearently the only option that works at the time) and turn it back on just to get the remote to function properly. Transitions between color hues aren't smooth also, the light flashes with each change. Too many of these changes at once makes the remote glitch. In reality I would give this product a 3.5 and it should be in the 40-50 dollar range.

Issues with Remote Control.

At the moment the remote control does not work and I seem to be having a problem getting this resolved. You can't use the light without the remote control. Yes, I have checked the battery. Yes, I have undertaken the remote sensor test. Yes, I have checked the connections inside the remote. All to no avail. Hopefully Finnex will agree to replace the remote control soon and I will be able to update this review with a more positive note.
Light works, remote is a finnicky.

Lights work good, but the remote doesn't. No buttons on the light itself, means you are stuck trying to get the remote to function to use the light at all. Pushing the remote buttons several times to get any response. Tried close, far, different angles from the sensor...no luck. If you have the light on, and want to change it to a different setting, then you almost always have to turn the light completely off & back on before it will let you change the light setting. This makes most of its fancy(and mostly useless) features very frustrating to use. On the bright side(pun) the light itself is nice, and the 24/7 cycle works great once you can get the remote to function long enough to get it cycling. Its hard to tell whether it is cycling or stuck on a certain time of day. Once I get it cycling I just leave it alone. The colors are cool, and I just wish it was easier to change the settings and then quickly switch it back to 24/7 cycle. I have figured out its quirks, so I can use it, but the remote system seems very cheap. Overall I still like it, but I guess I might have looked around more if i'd known. It is pricey to get a remote, and an extremely unsatisfying lightning affect.....which is terrible. It literally just flashes to the exact same rhythm over and over....and looks like the light is broken.
This is getting 4 stars for the overall brightness and color of the light, and the 24/7 cycle. Not for anything else.
