Emphasis on MINI

The desk is smaller than you'd think, it fits my 13" laptop and nothing else. Its surface is super-slippery. The laptop can stay on it if you're balancing it, but if your kid is trying to do homework, pencils roll off, cell phones slide off. And if you put the desk on the couch and stand up, the computer will slide off too. I bought two, one for my kid and one for me, since the beans inside our old lap-desks were leaking out all over everything. Honestly, I regret not just buying one. It's definitely "MINI" -- which I guess works for a young child, if they don't bean their siblings on the head with the desk part (which is surprisingly solid). If you want a desk for your iPad or your Kindle, then this size would be perfect for you. This desk is smaller than the normal-sized lap-desks we had picked up at either Staples or Office Max (it's been awhile, so I don't remember which). The memory foam cushion is a vast improvement on the bean cushions for sure. But I think I would have liked this desk much better, if it was large enough to hold both a 13" laptop and a normal-sized cell phone, and if the surface wasn't so freaking slippery.
Well-designed product

I have not used my laptop on it. When I first used it on my lap it did get warm. That bothered me and I did not think I would like this product. After further use, I use this product now quite frequently. My keyboard I use for my laptop stays securely and does not slide around at all. When I am writing on paper, one page at a time, the paper doesn't move at all even if I turn it upside down. Because it is flat on the bottom, it does not have to be on my lap to be usable. I have used it for coloring, writing, packaging, and crafts. There are definite benefits to it being flat and not curved to allow air flow. If it was curved on the bottom I would not be able to use it in any position. I can sit it partially on my lap and partially on the couch or a pillow and be very functional. I can use this in any position. It is not have to be lying flat. It has a small handle on it that makes it easy to use to take off my lap and lean it up against the couch or coffee table. When I needed I just grab the handle and bring it up to my lap. I know I keep it nearby and use it quite often. It acts like a functional portable desk. I would definitely recommend this product. I have found that it is a very good quality.
Great lap desk

I like this lap desk. My computer does not slide but it also has rubber on the bottom. I do wish the desk had a cubbie to store pens, etc. but I'm sure that is the reason why it is cheaper than some other brands. There is plenty of room on the surface for my Asus Chromebook. Overall satisfied! !!
PERFECT for my needs and top quality to boot!

Absolutely perfect for my needs. It fits exactly right between the wide arms of my 1930s bamboo chair, holds my 15" MacBook Pro and the convenient slot holds my Kindles at the perfect reading angle. The memory foam gives just enough to slightly mold to my legs without making the lap desk wobbly when I cross my legs to the opposite side. And, the memory foam doesn't generate any heat so my legs don't get hot no matter how long I use it.
It is small enough to store easily and the carry handle is convenient. All in all it's PERFECT! Now, if I could find a mouse pad 6x6" to put on the wide arm of my bamboo chair I'd be in wireless MacBook Pro heaven!

Is it possible for a lap to be more comfortable? Sure, if you have a puppy lying on it. Is it possible for a lap to be more comfortable when it holds a laptop? NOPE.
This thing is amazing. MUCH sturdier and more comfortable than the makeshift desks I used before, which included a cardboard shipping box, a book, and a shelf from a small bookcase (started from the bottom NOW WE HERE, am I right Drake?). If you have a MacBook, don't worry, it won't slide off because even though I'm not a trig major (hey I DID ace college algebra), I'd estimate the angle I tilted it at was 45 degrees, and it barely moved; even then it stayed on the desk. But if you're leaning the desk at a greater angle than that, what are you even doing? Forget I asked that, I don't think I want to know. Oh, and PC users, if your laptop has rubber feet on the bottom, you'll be fine too.
Now let's talk about the memory foam. Solid enough with a protective outer shell to stay a sturdy surface, soft and light enough to not feel like you're carrying an anvil. To semi-quote Beyoncé, Sofia + Sam, you've got me lookin' so crazy in love. Lastly, I didn't realize the surface wasn't a solid black but that it has somewhat of a fleck in it. Not even mad because it's like I'm looking into a universe of comfort.
S+S, I LOVE YOU AND YOUR PRODUCT. KEEP DOING YOU, BOO!
