I didn't actually use this in a gun case, just needed some carvable foam for a DIY project. This stuff is great, probably the cheapest per cubic inch I could find on Amazon. Very firm, I was able to wedge it into place suspended between two walls and it held just by friction with no bowing or sagging. Cuts relatively easily with a utility knife, it's firm enough that you can accurately shave off small increments as you work down to a specific size.

Too damn expensive for what it is! It is just foam; and don't lecture me on the different types or attributes either, I took advanced chemistry and know how foam is made commercially. The profit margins are ludicrous. That goes for memory foam too. Don't believe their b.s. about research either, most was done with gov't contracts years(decades) ago.

With that out of the way,

This is a five star product. It is exactly the kind of foam that you want to use to cut to your guns' shape. I only deducted stars for the price, not that Case Club is charging any more than anyone else. Everyone is doing it.

Outstanding. Just take your time as you cut the design into it. It is 4 layers of dense material glue together so you can kinda peel it apart. I have the 42" Plano tactical rifle case and this piece needs to be trimmed to fit. Much better then the pluck style that came with it

Living in the Southwest means plenty of wild boar hunting opportunities, and flying with firearms can be a worrisome ordeal if you've invested in quality firearms/optics.

After arriving in Texas with an expensive scope rendered useless, I knew it was time to step up my gun case game. Nothing against Pelican, but money doesn't grow on trees. I actually couldn't be happier with my choice in my travel case choice! When any latch is thrown on this case, it "snaps to" with motivation and intensity. The foam is dense but cuts easily enough for fine adjustments. I used a fine tooth saw for the longer cuts. I also bought extra foam inserts so I can just change the insert to travel with different rifles/pistols/ammunition boxes. Great setup, couldn't be happier!

I have not cut for the case as of yet but did try cutting it to see how difficult it would be. It cut fairly east with a sharp razor knife I may have a little difficulty because of the 2" thickness. Overall it should be great for the gun case once I figure a very good way to cut the 2" thickness cleanly.
