I'm in love with this screen mount. I have been using this for the last few days now. I should had spent my money on this arm rather then buying none-gas ordinary screen mount.
Since it has the gas pump. i was able to move my screen with a small push using my finger. With my other mount, i had to loose the screw then push it back with my hand!

When im watching a video or playing games, i would like to have the screen little away & raised up from me to get the sound effect and see it little more far, just my preference. All this set-up with one push. I just do not know how can i explain it, rather then saying, to you all, get one and see the difference. it will make your life little more easier.

The setup I have is a workbench with a riser. The riser is like a smaller desk on top of the workbench. It is 19" deep and using this monitor arm allows me to have my monitor overhanging the riser. So basically my workbench is clear of a monitor and my monitor isn't so high because it's resting over the riser. Speaking of resting, the monitor arm is actually resting on the front edge of the riser because this arm is special enough to swing all the way down. Outside of this specific feature, the instructions are indeed convoluted; they seem to pack as much information in the tiniest paper. Also if I didn't need the extra down swing I would recommend getting the Vivo single gas monitor arm: sleeker and less pricey.

I have an older 24" LCD monitor with CCFL backlighting. It is listed in the manual as being 10 kg. I bought this Suptek MD5411B since it is also rated up to 10 kg.

First, the arm is solid, really solid. Everything but the plastic felt heavy duty. The plastic covering the gas spring is high density and quite rigid. The cable routing piece on the first segment feels very light weight. It seems too rigid and brittle for its purpose. The clamp and base also feel very heavy heavy duty. The vertical riser feels light weight, but the plastic choke appears well suited for keeping the arm from sliding down the riser. This would be a 4-star product if I ended things here...

Second, I returned the arm because it was not able to hold up my 10 kg monitor even after performing ALL of the adjustments. I tighten the bolt so the last segment (attached to the plate) could easily hold the monitor without drooping (a good thing). I could not adjust the gas spring to keep it from drooping. At first, I was completely unable to turn the gas tension adjustment until I loosened the bottom retaining screw. Then, I turned the tension adjustment all the way it can in "-" (EDIT: actually in the "+") direction. I also tightened the bottom screw all the way. The gas spring still drooped. So, -2 stars for not meeting its own performance specs.

Overall, IF the MD5411B could have held up the monitor, I could have lived with the minor negatives. All of the metallic parts are heavy duty and should work with light monitors. The joints are a bit stiff, but you can adjust all of them (except maybe the motion of the gas spring).

I am using the Suptek mount to allow me to properly adjust my monitor on my very crowded desk. Works well for this task. It is holding a 27" Samsung, weighing about 11 pounds, with no problem. Assembly and adjustments are straight forward, rocket scientist are not included or needed. It is a very useful tool.

I originally intended to get the tall version so I could either sit or stand to work. I am glad I got the short one and figured out a way to accomplish the same thing without having to make any adjustments to the base mount. The sliding arm does not easily slide on the desk mounted pole.

This monitor arm is an expensive piece of junk. I tried communicating with the seller, but all I got was a poorly translated E-Mail message that told me to follow the poorly written and microscopic diagrams. It is supposed to support up to 10Kg (22 pounds) The monitor I am trying to use with it only weighs 8.4 pounds and the various joints can not be tightened to support the weight. The collar pieces on the post can not be tightened sufficiently either. Save your money and look for another monitor support that might actually support.
