Works great and worth every penny

I just needed something cheap to read and maybe clear the check engine code. That way, I can do a little bit of research before going to the Mechanic. It connected to my 2005 Toyota Prius and Samsung Galaxy in seconds. The free app showed code "P0442" which can usually be resolved with a new gas cap and luckily fixed my problem.
I've had the same situation with a previous car and it cost me $125. The mechanic charged me $100 for a full hour, to "diagnose" the problem and another $25 for a gas cap. As I reluctantly handed over my credit card, I asked, "so it took you guys a whole hour to connect my car to a code reader and screw in a new gas cap?" They replied with some BS, "well, it's not that simple because we had to ACTUALLY diagnose the problem."
It's definitely worth paying $11 to have a general idea of what's wrong with your car.

As this device stated that it would work for iOS and Android. After looking up support information to get the OBD 2 scanner to connect to my Samsung galaxy S7. I have tried to read the forms and try each fix; even uninstalling APP's that gave the Torque Pro problems. I also purchased the pro version of the app thinking that it would help. As in the forms to try other cars as well. The device connects then disconnects, and when opening the APP, changing the settings to Wi-Fi as directed in all the forms and manual. Still this device will not work with an Android device.
I then tried with my iPad and it dose connect only with IOS. I purchased this because it stated that it would work for both mobile operating systems. I will keep this at 2 Stars as it does work with iOS (works better when buying the pro OBD car doctor app).

I bought the Wi-Fi version, paired with an old android tablet I had lying around. Unit comes up in less than 30 seconds. I haven't checked range of wi-fi signal, but it's very strong in the car. I've used this with a Lincoln Town Car, Oldsmobile Bravada and Dodge Neon to date, and have been able to view live data, read and clear trouble codes. I've only used this with Torque Pro so far, but the app quickly pairs with this device. I bought the wi-fi because of the ability to pair with an IOS device, but have yet to try that out. Because it uses the wi-fi signal and my tablet isn't on a cellular network, I'm unable to look up additional information on fault codes while in the vehicle, but that's not a fault of this device just something to be aware of.
I would definitely recommend as an inexpensive entry to professional-level scan tools. $20 for this device and $5 for an app gets you an impressive set of capabilities that used to cost hundreds.

Cheap but VERY Effective

A VERY cheap but yet very effective way of trouble shooting your vehicle. Tuned the Torque App for my 2005 F250 6.0 Diesel and was able to work through all the issues I was having. Truck is running great and now I just leave it hooked up synced to a tablet I have mounted up in truck for more detailed information while driving. Will be purchasing a couple more for our other vehicles.
