a well built tool
stone113•July 8, 2018
here is a well put together tool...but we dont use it for gardening..we use it rock hunting...lots of the garden tools out there dont have the beef to stand up moving rocks and debris while searching this one has solid tines..a great spade blade thats thick and wont bend easily...for those gardeners...you should really like this tool..it should last a long time..as it is solid and well put together
Solid built tool
Amazon Customer•July 7, 2018
This is a well built tool; very solid. The oak handle appears that it will last decades and the hoe/cultivator is NOT flimsy. The only reason I did not give it five stars is that it is heavier than the one that I previously used. I like the lighter weight of my old tool for some jobs but then I must say this tool will work very well for some tougher tasks. On my old tool the handle finally snapped but my opinion is that this handle will last a lifetime (as long as you don't abuse it!) I would recommend this tool unless you are frail and unable to wield a heavier tool. Thumbs up to good old fashioned USA tool making!
A VERY, VERY HANDY TOOL
One Tree in the Forest•June 26, 2018
I've used these for years - and killed some by breaking off tines - putting them to the very hard task of beating back KUDZU. When used for their intended gardening purpose one should last a lifetime! But they are a handy tool for level 1-2 Kudzu battle - with level 5 calling for a full sized mattock blade on a long oak handle with 3 large prongs opposite of it!
Seems sturdy and sharp enough

This tool arrived today and I gave it a trial run in a bed that needs to be weeded. I can hold it near the cushioned grip or further up the handle for shorter strokes. The tines in the forked end could be more pointed, but they work well enough. The flat blade works well for chopping the roots of nuisance weeds. It's not balanced - the blade end is slightly heavier than the fork end - which acts as a counterweight to avoid over swinging with the fork. Seems sturdy and sharp enough.
It gives me great pleasure working with this tool
