I normally would not have taken the time to write about string lights, but these are easy to put up, the "Edison" antique yellowish glow adds a nice dimension to the light, but they are probably the safest lights I have seen in a long time. The cords are very heavy duty, the lamps tighten well into the rubber boots they rest in, and the AC connectors are of exceptional quality.
I noticed that the manufacturer also supplied a cheat sheet for strings of lights that are added together and the power they consume. This mitigates what I call "Darwin's Waiting Room" and believe it or not, with no warning and 10 strings of cheap lights, people start fires. The factory that made these had safety as a high priority.
The price is right and they are a good value.
All this means is that it does not cost the Earth to build safe, quality electrical consumer products. These lights are not much, if any more cost that all the others. I guess that's what they call "commercial grade" which means "not junk." I'm truly grateful the manufacturer looks out for those who don't.

I originally bought two sets of these lights a few years back to hang across my patio where I didn't have enough light coming from the deck lights. They fully illuminated my patio and looked amazing! I've restrung my lights with a better pole set, and needed more lighting, so I bought a third set of this same product. They are heavier than your typical string party lights, so I recommend using a light installation kit with a wire, and anywhere you're not attaching them to structures, go with thick steel poles (not aluminum) so the lights don't sag.
Helpful tip for those who are using these lights for the first time: when inserting the bulb, plug in and then slowly twist each bulb until it turns on. Don't worry if it feels tight and that you might break the bulb. It's just the socket creating a waterproof seal. I made the mistake of putting in all the bulbs, thinking they were in tight, and when I plugged it in, only two bulbs were lit. I thought the product was defective so I returned it. When the replacement order arrived, the same thing happened. This time, I slowly kept turning the bulbs until they lit, and voila! It worked this time, so it was totally user error.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased these lights over two years ago when I discovered our outdoor balcony had no outlets. They have survived through Okinawa's intense summer sun, rainy seasons, and 3 typhoon seasons. Are they perfect? No. But considering they work great 85-90% of the time and are a fantastic touch to our small outdoor space, I would still recommend them!
Some issues I've had
1. The solar charge life is not incredibly long even on a VERY clear sunny day. If we are entertaining I will have to disconnect and plug it in to charge beforehand if I want it to last throughout the evening.
2. The bulb brightness is also pretty dim, it's more for ambiance than if you need them to be functionally bright.
3. The connection cords from the lights to the solar panel can be a little finicky at times. But the automatic on at dusk is usually reliable and I've only had to replace one bulb thus far! ðŸ'ŒðŸ¼ If I could change one thing, is I wish I had the option to purchase a bigger/more efficient solar panel
